Today is VFW Day of Service. Post 2216 was active for the cleanup and some pruning on The Avenue of Trees on Statler Blvd in Staunton. Commander, Quartermaster and Past Commander performed the task and safety during activity. Picture attached.

On previous post two important activities were missed. May 25, Memorial Day celebrations start with honors at the Old Court House in Downtown honoring veterans who served. There are four bronze plaques at the front. Ceremony starts at 0800 0945 the Stonewall Brigade Band begins music at the Gypsy Hill Park Gazebo and then the annual Memorial Day event begins at 1000. VFW Posts, American Legion Posts and veterans begin the event. In case of rain the event will be conducted at the American Legion Post on Cedar Green Road. Public event, so come on out and celebrate with our veterans.
