Blue Ridge CASA for Children

We offer community members the opportunity to change children's lives.

Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) is a public, non-profit charitable organization that recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to serve as advocates for children whose families have been cited for abuse and neglect by the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Our program currently serves the counties of Rockingham, Augusta, and Rockbridge, as well as the independent cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, Lexington, and Buena Vista.

June is Pride Month, a time to recognize and support LGBTQ youth, including those in foster care. 💙

Research has found that nearly 1 in 5 youth in foster care identify as LGBTQ, and many face additional challenges, including placement instability and concerns about whether they will be accepted and supported.

At Blue Ridge CASA, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and heard. This month, and every month, we remain committed to advocating for the well-being of all children.🌈

Judges see everyone working for kids in foster care — the caseworkers, attorneys, therapists, and countless others who show up every day.

And according to a 2020 study, 92% of judges say CASA volunteers have the most significant impact on a child's long-term well-being — not instead of those partners, but alongside them.

That's not a small thing. That's a judge saying: this person, in this child's corner, made a difference 💙

It was such a fun evening, and we’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by to support Blue Ridge CASA, try the Casarita, and spend time with us. We’re excited to report that we officially kicked the cask! 🎉

A special thank you to Brothers Craft Brewing for allowing us to be part of this fun event and for supporting Blue Ridge CASA and the children we serve.

Our offices are closed today in observance of Memorial Day as we take time to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country 💙

🎉 Happy Birthday to Ali! 🎉

Ali brings so much kindness and positivity to the people around her. She has a way of making others feel encouraged and seen, and her belief in both people and this mission is evident in everything she does. Whether she’s working with future advocates, representing CASA in the community, or simply showing up for her coworkers, Ali does it all with heart, determination, and genuine care.

We’re so lucky to know her, work alongside her, and celebrate her today. 💙

Our signature “Casarita” — a Mango Tajín Mexican Lager — will officially be on tap this Friday from 5–8 PM, with proceeds benefiting Blue Ridge CASA.

Last Wednesday we were proud to officially induct three new CASA advocates serving Shenandoah and Page counties! 💙

After their induction, we celebrated together at Flour to Fork and welcomed them to the Blue Ridge CASA program. We’re grateful for their willingness to step into this role and advocate for children in their communities.

Families are built through love, support, connection, and care—and every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported by the people around them.

🍻 We’re excited to partner with Brothers Craft Brewing for their Casks for a Cause event! 💙

Join us on May 22 from 5–8 PM to try our signature “Casarita” — a Mango Tajin Mexican Lager created in support of Blue Ridge CASA.

A portion of proceeds from the evening will benefit our mission, and we’d love to see our supporters there for a fun night supporting children in our community!

Yesterday, we officially welcomed 3 new advocates serving the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro (SAW) region! 💙

Our newest CASA volunteers were inducted at the new courthouse in Staunton before celebrating together with coffee at Crucible Coffee Roasters. We’re excited to have them join our program and begin advocating for children in our community.
