Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund We help ease the financial burden of individuals in
our community who are battling cancer.

The Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund helps ease the financial burden of individuals and families in our community who are battling cancer by providing funding for basic necessities so their focus is on treatment and recovery. Since our inception in 2006, the Bob Perks Fund Cancer Assistance Fund has raised and allocated over 2.2 million dollars to local cancer patients facing financial hardship in

Blair, Centre, Clearfield and Huntingdon Counties. In 2021, Mifflin and Juniata counties were added to the BPF service area. While the emotional strain of a potentially fatal disease is enormously stressful, it is totally overwhelming when a family is forced to decide between buying food or heating their home. This is where the Bob Perks Fund steps in, providing short-term financial assistance to cancer patients who are unable to pay for basic necessities such as rent, utilities and food while they are undergoing cancer treatments.

On May 2, 2026, the American Cancer Society held their annual Race Day Soiree at the General Potter Farm in Spring Mills. This year’s event included a live viewing of the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby, live music, activities, and amazing food and drinks. We are very proud to call the American Cancer Society and Penn State Coaches Vs. Cancer some of our most cherished BPF Strategic Partners.

Recently, UPMC Altoona provided Bob Perks Fund with an annual grant award in the amount of $35,000. This incredibly generous donation will make a direct impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors battling cancer and will help ensure that they can focus on getting well, without worrying about paying their bills. As one of our most trusted referral sources, a BPF Special Events Partner, AND a cherished BPF Strategic Partner, UPMC Altoona is absolutely crucial to the long-term success of our organization. We are so very thankful for their unwavering commitment to our local cancer community. THANK YOU, UPMC Altoona!

This year, we celebrate 20 years of the Bob Perks Fund. In honor of this special anniversary, we have launched the $20K for 20 Years campaign. Through this campaign, we hope to raise at least $20,000 to help pay the bills of our local cancer warriors. Reaching this goal will fund at least 20 cancer patient applications!

In addition, a very generous, anonymous donor has issued a challenge to our community: raise $10,000 now to support our local cancer patients...and they will match EVERY dollar! We have made great progress so far, but.... we still need your help. Please consider making a donation today, as your gift will make TWICE the difference!
