For too many Tribal veterans, accessing the health care they earned means traveling hours from their communities to the nearest VA facility. Thatโ€™s a barrier no veteran should face.

Thatโ€™s why the bipartisan passage of Amendment No. 48 is so important. Reps. Greg Stanton and Eli Crane secured approval to redirect $5 million from the VA General Administration account to the VA Office of Rural Health, expanding services for Tribal veterans through mobile clinics and targeted clinical staffing.

These investments will help bring care directly to veterans in rural and Tribal communities, reducing travel burdens and improving access to critical health services.

Our Tribal veterans have answered the call to serve our nation. Expanding mobile health care access is a practical, bipartisan step toward ensuring they receive the care and support they deserveโ€”closer to home. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

We recognize the important role mobile health programs play in reaching Tribal communities. Through our Native American Coalition, we help connect Tribal and Native American mobile health programs across the country, creating opportunities to share best practices, learn from one another, build partnerships, and strengthen access to care in underserved communities.

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously adopted an amendment introduced by Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ) and co-led by Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) to improve access to health care for Tribal veterans. The amendment passed as part of an en bloc package in the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs...

How can states use the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) to improve maternal health outcomes in rural communities?

New from Manatt Health: Maternal Health Innovations Through the Rural Health Transformation Program highlights how RHTP funding can be a catalyst for expanding access to maternity care and strengthening support for pregnant and postpartum individuals in rural areas.

The article explores opportunities for states to:
โ€ข Address maternity care workforce shortages
โ€ข Expand telehealth-enabled prenatal and postpartum care
โ€ข Strengthen quality and safety initiatives
โ€ข Invest in home visiting, behavioral health, and community-based supports

As states shape their RHTP strategies, maternal health presents a meaningful opportunity to improve access, strengthen rural care delivery, and advance healthier outcomes for families.
