The Bigger Picture

The Bigger Picture Cancer is more than a medical diagnosis - it's a journey that impacts so many facets of the lives it touches. Louis.

The American Cancer Society is committed to looking at the cancer journey as a whole - working on The Bigger Picture. In 2019, we launched The Bigger Picture, an art platform created to give cancer survivors the opportunity to share a piece of their cancer journey through art. Survivors were introduced to and interviewed by experienced artists, giving both parties the chance to talk one-on-one abo

ut their lives. Once the experienced artists saw the survivors’ art and heard their stories, they created their own interpretive renditions of their assigned survivor pieces, each portraying their new perspective on the survivors’ message. The Bigger Picture event was held – which displayed all the art which was auctioned off, with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge St. We hope to resume the in person event in 2021. Currently, we are recruiting artists and survivors to participate in our 2021 event. To learn more or apply, contact Kate Bohn, [email protected] or 573-837-2855.
