Troop 708 Vision, Mission and Values
------------------------------------------------------------
BSA Troop 708 in Fenton, Missouri was established in 1983 and has distinguished itself as one of the strongest Scouting programs in this area. We are chartered (sponsored) by Rockwood South Middle School and enjoys a supportive relationship with the school. The troop's vision is consistent with the vi

sion statement of the Boy Scouts of America to prepare youth to become responsible, participating citizens and leaders guided by the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Troop 708 is, in both philosophy and action, a boy-run and boy-led troop in the tradition established by Scouting's founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell. For those who were involved in Cub Scouting, the idea of a boy-led troop is often, at first sight, seen as inefficient or even frightening. However Troop 708 has learned that the best way to prepare young leaders is to train them and let them lead. That is why our troop is successful. "Train Scouts to do a job, then let them do it."
- Lord Robert Baden-Powell
