LET'S TALK ABOUT IT...

In observance of Juneteenth, Community Action Agency of St. Louis County (CAASTLC) will be closed on Friday, June 19.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865—the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a day of reflection, education, celebration, and recognition of the ongoing journey toward equality and opportunity for all.

As an organization dedicated to helping people, changing lives, and strengthening communities, we believe it is important to honor the history, resilience, and contributions of those who have helped shape our nation and our communities.

We would love to hear from you:
What does Juneteenth mean to you, your family, or your community? Share your thoughts, traditions, or ways you commemorate this important day in the comments below.

Together, we can learn from our history, celebrate progress, and continue building stronger, more inclusive communities.
