A St. Louis man adopted through Catholic Charities nearly 60 years ago learned his biological father is Doobie Brothers singer Michael McDonald.

Lydia and Timothy were twins born in 2022.

But they are already 34 years old.

The twins and their 3 siblings were conceived in an IVF lab in 1992.

They were frozen for 30 years—stored at nearly 200 degrees below zero in liquid nitrogen.

In 2007, their biological parents donated them to the National Embryo Donation Center where they were adopted by Rachel and Phillip Ridgeway.

The Ridgeways requested to adopt “special cases”—the embryos that had been waiting the longest. They were given Lydia, Timothy, and their 3 siblings.

When the babies were defrosted, two of them tragically died. So the Ridgeways transferred the remaining three. Only Timothy and Lydia survived.

It’s a miracle these children are alive. 93% of babies created in IVF are never born—frozen, experimented on, miscarried, or destroyed.

Timothy and Lydia also survived all the risks associated with IVF:

➡️ Double the chance of stillbirth
➡️ Higher risk of childhood leukemia
➡️ Low birth weight
➡️ Higher blood pressure
➡️ Hormonal imbalances
➡️ Advanced bone age

➡️ Infertility

Every baby conceived through IVF is a gift to be loved & cherished. But no baby should be subjected to it.

Protect children.

Meet Baby Shane Michael Haley - a precious baby boy who was born with anencephaly.

He lived for just 5 hours after birth, but his short life has touched millions.

This is his story.

Before Shane was born, his parents, Jenna and Dan Haley, received the shocking diagnosis.

They were told their preborn son had a brain defect called anencephaly.

The condition causes a baby to be born without parts of its brain and skull. Many children diagnosed with anencephaly die shortly after birth.

Dan and Jenna could have chosen to handle this difficult news in a number of ways, including aborting him.

Instead, Dan and Jenna decided to love their little boy to the very end.

The couple created a bucket list for him.

They didn’t know if he’d ever be able to visit the zoo or play on a sandy beach.

In a creative act of love, they planned to enjoy those things while he was with them, growing in the womb.

“He’s still our little boy and even though he’s been given such a short life expectancy because of anencephaly, we wanted to make sure that we gave him a lifetime worth of adventures and love while he’s with us.”

The couple created the page sharing his preborn adventures, and it gained 800,000 followers.

“One thing we would want people to take away is that each human life is so valuable and that it’s important to live each day to its fullest potential.”

Baby Shane experienced only love, inside the womb and out. He passed away surrounded by family, peacefully cradled in his mother’s arms.

Every child who faces a life-threatening diagnosis deserves the chance he got.
