STL Youth Jobs We connect youth, ages 14-24, with paid, work-based experiences. stlyouthjobs.org Louis’ youth.

Services include financial literacy & job readiness trainings, jobs with local employers, career exploration, job shadowing, and career support/mentoring from a Job Coach. STL Youth Jobs is a nonprofit that builds work and life skills and increases youth involvement and engagement with their community. STL Youth Jobs was developed in 2013 to fill the gap in employment services for St. We now serve youth, ages 15-24, in 66 communities in the region to bridge the divide between our region’s youth and the growing skills gap in our workforce.

Did you know our Discover You pathway includes three field trips for our participants?

We’ve featured their trip to JA Trades where they did hands-on learning about different types of trade careers. They also took a trip to Eagleton Courthouse to learn about opportunities in law.

Their last field trip was a visit to Babler State Park in Wildwood, MO where they learned more about conservation, getting out to experience nature and engaged with some wildlife! 🐍

Thank you, Thomas F. Eagleton United States Courthouse, for hosting our STL Youth Jobs Discover You Pathway participants!

Throughout July, group field trips gave students a behind the scenes look at careers in law enforcement and our legal system. Participants heard first hand from different lawyers, judges, stenographers, U.S. Marshalls (and more) about their career paths and what their job entails, all while highlighting the importance of public service, leadership, and community engagement.

We consistently hear that this trip is a favorite among participants! Opportunities like these help our youth connect classroom learning to real world careers and envision what’s possible for their futures.

In 2025, STL Youth Jobs held our first ever Reality Fair and it was a hit! After last year’s success, we were excited to host again this summer with our CAP participants.

Never heard of a Reality Fair? Here’s how it works 👇🏼

Students choose a mock career, starting salary and family status, then visit themed booths to budget and pay for real-world expenses like housing, transportation, pets, cell phone, groceries, insurance and even the unexpected - all while trying to avoid debt.

This exercise helps our participants distinguish between personal needs vs. wants and understanding credit, loans, and debt management, simulating what adult living is truly like.

It’s highly interactive and allows students to ask thoughtful questions in the process so they can prepare for their next chapter in life and career.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our amazing volunteers as well as JP Morgan Chase & Co. for sponsoring the event. And Board Member - Blake Emerson for helping connect all the dots. Thank you!

Some of our CAP participants before the Reality Fair last Tuesday ✨

This is the second year we’ve held the Reality Fair for the CAP Pathway. It’s a fun interactive experience where they learn how to navigate real life obstacles, manage budgets and make responsible financial decisions.

On Wednesday, our Discover You participants took a field trip to to learn more about careers in different trades!

Career Accelerator Pathway (CAP) 🤝 Meet & Greet!

Our CAP interns are almost one month in after their June 9th Meet and Greet with STLYJ’s employer-partners, in partnership with !

Participants in CAP are between the ages of 18 and 24 and enrolled in post-secondary education or vocational training. The purpose of the Meet and Greet is to solidify the matches between the 20 interns and their employers while giving them the opportunity to meet their work supervisors and network.

The Creative Spot welcomes back Mark to the Chosen Pathways Program for his second year! He's ready to greet guests and help them decide what their creative experience will be!

His Chosen Pathway is Cyber Security at Texas A&M University this fall!! He started working with computers in middle school and has been passionate about the cyber world ever since!!

This program is in partnership with STL Youth Jobs who helps place our youth at various job locations during the summer for professional development! Talk about ✨️

Big news! 🎉 Let’s welcome Tepra Marketing’s newest intern, Cindi Frazier, assigned through STL Youth Jobs!

Cindi is a junior Dramatic Writing major (with a Film & TV minor) at SCAD Atlanta. She’s a multidisciplinary creative with a massive passion for storytelling, screenwriting, journalism, and graphic design.

Cindi’s spending the summer diving into marketing and learning how strategic messaging connects brands with communities.
