We connect youth, ages 14-24, with paid, work-based experiences. stlyouthjobs.org Louis’ youth.

Services include financial literacy & job readiness trainings, jobs with local employers, career exploration, job shadowing, and career support/mentoring from a Job Coach. STL Youth Jobs is a nonprofit that builds work and life skills and increases youth involvement and engagement with their community. STL Youth Jobs was developed in 2013 to fill the gap in employment services for St. We now serve

youth, ages 15-24, in 66 communities in the region to bridge the divide between our region’s youth and the growing skills gap in our workforce.

🎉GIVE STL DAY IS HERE! 🎉

It’s STL’s biggest day of giving to nonprofits in the region and we are so excited to take part again this year! It’s more important than ever to support local organizations giving back to our community and we hope you will consider STL Youth Jobs for your contribution today!

Since 2013, STL Youth Jobs has provided training and paid work experiences to more than 7,800 young people from under-resourced neighborhoods of St. Louis City and North County. In partnership with other youth-serving organizations (including the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Fathers & Families Support Center, and the St. Louis Internship Program), STLYJ helps strengthen the ecosystem for youth employment in our region.

STL YOUTH JOBS ⭐️Employer Spotlight ⭐️ with 📚

The St. Louis Public Library system is one of STL Youth Jobs’ longest-running employer-partners. STLYJ participants have been placed over the past 11 years at the Central Library along with the Barr, Buder, Carpenter, Schlafly, Walnut Park, Cabanne, and Julia Davis branches (with the latter two on hiatus after tornado damage in 2025). Last summer, the city library system provided high-quality work experiences for 10 STLYJ youth.

“St. Louis Public Library has been a proud partner of STL Youth Jobs for over seven years and has hosted dozens of youth partners in that time. Youth that have been matched at the library have gone on to become volunteers, have joined SLPL’s Teen Leadership Council, and a few have even been hired as staff.

Staff loves seeing our youth partner’s growth each summer. This is many of our youth partner’s first work experience, and we are happy to guide them through timesheets, customer interactions, and communication skills. We appreciate the opportunity to work with youth at such a significant stage in their lives and are always excited when they express interest in continuing their careers at the library!”

WE DID IT!! 🎉

Thanks to you, we were able to meet our $20k match from the JMS Foundation! That brings us to $40k raised and matched for our End of Year Campaign.

BUT…
.even better news is we actually raised OVER $20,000 which we are still finalizing to report our grand total soon!

Thanks for all of your support throughout 2025, including this campaign. We’re excited for another impactful year in 2026!

$16,200 raised so far! 🎉

We are so grateful for your support in helping us reach our $20k match towards our Year-End Campaign - all thanks to Ms. Marie Jacobs and the JMS Foundation.

Your support not only makes it possible for us to serve hundreds of youth in St. Louis as our costs increase–it also makes positive outcomes possible.

One outcome being that approximately 80% of young wage-earners save money in their savings accounts over the summer with those saving $250 or more receiving a match from Operation HOPE and the St. Louis Community Credit Union!

We are excited to kick off the STL Youth Jobs’ Annual End of Year Campaign, our biggest individual fundraising event of the year!

Thanks to the generosity of Ms. Marie Jacobs and the JMS Foundation, every dollar raised up to $20,000 will be matched for the third year in a row. We are sincerely grateful to have the continued support of the JMS Foundation as we strive to create a more equitable employment landscape for youth in St. Louis.

This past summer, we placed nearly 400 youth in quality, paid job experiences while supporting them through job readiness training, financial empowerment, mentoring, and other professional development opportunities.
