Announcing the 5th Annual Robert W. Anderson Jr. & William “Spike” Jones Memorial Golf Tournament - FRIDAY, AUGUST 7TH 2026 at 8:00am
The F.I.R.E. Retirees, in collaboration with our Athletes to First Responder Charitable Fund, Inc., are honored to host our fifth tournament this year. Please refer to the attached flyer to register, pay for the tournament, reserve a spot at the luncheon only, or purchase a tee sign via the QR code provided. To sponsor any aspect of the event, visit our website at https://athletes2fr.com, select the "Become a Sponsor" option at the top of the homepage, and complete the form online. The sponsorship packet is available for reading or download under the “Downloadable Packets” section.
Due to recent management changes and a temporary closure at Eagle Springs Golf Course, finalizing arrangements required additional time. We have now secured an agreement with the new leadership team, who have assured us that all tournament expectations will be met. Please note there is a minor increase in costs this year; however, participants will benefit from brand new carts and enhanced facilities.
Thanks to the generosity of our members and the success of last year's fundraiser, we contributed $6,200 to the Northeast Ambulance & Fire Protection District EMT School through the Captain George Baker Scholarship Fund. Additionally, we supported another student at St. Louis Community College and St. Louis Community College Foundation, providing $1,800 through our scholarship program. As the golf tournament is our sole fundraising event, identifying sponsors and golfers is crucial to continuing this support. We encourage you to visit our website to sponsor the event, assemble a foursome, or participate in both capacities.
Sincerely,
The F.I.R.E. Retirees and The Athletes To First Responder Charitable Fund, Inc.

I would like to introduce Marquise White to you all. He came with a heart of F.I.R.E to become a Firefighter. He needed assistance with paying for school and the FIRE Retirees didn't hesitate to deliver. Because of our sponsorship Marquise is graduating January 22, 2025 at the top of his class. Marquise says he's prepared to jump right into Paramedic School. Marquise says this experience gave him the desire to pay it forward. Help us congratulate our FALL 2025 Scholar.

FIRE Retirees haven’t forgotten that people severely impacted by the devastation of the May tornado and other unfortunate circumstances still need help getting through these trying times. Service to your community has and will continue to be its own reward. Thanks to our members. Also thanks too John Saunders Jr. & The Wesley House and St Louis 100 Neediest Cases Program. They were both instrumental in helping us locate our recipients.

Thanks to all of those that came out Saturday. We had a great time, great food, music and fellowship. We welcomed back our long time supporter and wife of former firefighter and friend Shelton Sykes. Linda was involved in a serious accident and spent the better part of a year in the hospital. Thank God for her faith and perseverance. Seeing her actually made our day that much more special.
