20,000 Family March

11th Weekly Report – Saturday, June 14, 2025
Fairground Park, St. Louis

I woke feeling elevated, one Saturday to go.

My cousins called asking where I was. Folks were already at Fairground Park before 10 AM. When I arrived, everyone greeted me full of energy, full of power, and full of purpose, ready to go Facebook Live.

But I paused, and we spoke—quietly yet intently—about the 22nd. I told Adrian and Authority, this is the people’s march, and they can set the itinerary for the day. I reminded them to stay focused on legacy, unity, healing, and power. I brought up the battle cry once again:

Here we are,
Here we stay.

I asked them to leave a space for me to speak, and they responded, “You will open and close.” That sealed it.

Everyone brought their power signs and proudly displayed them. There were plenty. One said, “We must stop killing each other.” Another, “We stand with the defenseless.” One celebrated a Juneteenth festival. Two Pan-African flags were flying, blowing strong in the wind.

We had 13 committed souls present. Most could not wait to speak their truth, and we backed them with respect. I passed out more fliers for others to distribute.

Though the gathering officially ended at 11 AM, the spirit held on. People lingered in planning and power.

The final weekly gathering is this Saturday, June 21, 2025
10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fairground Park (The Bridge)

The 20,000 Family March will take place on
Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
at Fairground Park, Saint Louis

This is a people-powered movement. The call remains.

20,000 Family March – 6th Weekly Gathering Report
Fairground Park | Saturday, May 17, 2025 | 10AM

This past Saturday, we gathered under the weight of devastation. The tornado that swept through Saint Louis left homes, trees, and power lines twisted like paper. I was working on my art for Between Two Rivers, my IGNITE activation honoring Anselm Kiefer’s Becoming the Ocean. It had started to rain—but rain don’t hurt my art—so I kept working.

Then thunder rolled in, distant at first. But within seconds, the sky blackened, and the trees in my yard went haywire. I ran to the basement of my studio just in time. I called my wife—she was safe in our home basement. The storm passed. I went home.

Not long after, my daughter, her husband, my two granddaughters, and their dog showed up at my door. Their house and garage had been hit hard. A massive tree lay across their front yard. Power gone. But by God’s grace, they were unharmed.

The next morning, I sat in the quiet with a heavy mind. I didn’t know whether to stay with my family, go help a neighbor, or make my way to Fairground Park for the 6th Weekly Gathering. But I remembered the promise I made: When the call came to me, I would show up—God willing, come hail, high water, or worse.

So I kissed my family and made my way to the Park.

This time, most of us arrived before 10AM—and I went Facebook Live. There were eight of us—our largest gathering yet—and two were first-timers. Everyone had stories. Everyone had seen the destruction on their way in. Some had already been out helping neighbors that morning. And yet, they showed up.

We stood together and shared how we really felt—shaken, but unbroken. I asked, “Why did you come?” And one by one, they answered:
Because people together can never be defeated.
Because the call was bigger than comfort.
Because June 22 is not just a date—it’s a declaration.

Each person spoke what they would say to the multitude that will gather. Sister Authority lit us up with another powerful spoken word, declaring the park will be packed on June 22. Adrian said BMB is locked in. And JJ looked at me and said, “The call came through you, bro. You made the call—and the call made all of us.”
I nodded. I felt that.

We ended as we always do—with a photo.
Then we left, not just to go home, but to go help somebody.

This is the 20,000 Family March.
This is the movement.
God willing—come hail, high water, or tornado—we will stand.

5th Weekly Gathering Report – A March Becoming a Movement

Saturday, May 10th, 2025
The day was beautiful. The sun stood high, a cool breeze stirred the trees—it was perfect weather for what we are building.

I arrived at Fairground Park around 9:50 AM. As I crossed the bridge, I did so symbolically, imagining the thousands who one day will stand on the other side. But no one was there yet. I stood alone.

At 10:15 AM, I wrestled with two converging thoughts: Where is everyone? And that I will persevere alone if I must.
I struggled to go live on Facebook—three attempts. And on the third, just as I began to speak my truth about the call...

Brother Bill Monroe pulled up, hopping out of his car bearing donuts and good energy. A moment later, my phone rang. It was Brother JJ, marching across the same bridge I had just crossed. He called out, then spoke his truth to the world via Facebook Live.
Brother Dawud arrived shortly after. And then Sister Authority joined us too—bringing their voice, their truth, and their wisdom to the gathering.

We agreed: this is no longer just a march. This is a movement.

Authority closed the 5th gathering with a powerful spoken word piece. We reflected on the beauty and the pain held in Fairground Park—how our ancestors bled and died just to enter it. Some are still afraid to walk through it. But Authority spoke with pride about jogging the park at 5:00 AM, without fear. I shared how the homes, blocks, and land in North Saint Louis are conquest markers. And we must hold fast to this land.

Every week, someone new joins us. We are beginning to learn each other's names—and truths. It is becoming the very microcosm of the march I envision.

We snapped the attached photo to mark the moment.

The 5th Gathering toward the 20,000 Family March ended right on time—11:00 AM.

I hope more will join us next Saturday, 10AM-11AM for the 6th Weekly Gathering.
We will be there alone if we must—come hail or high water.

Peace in mind and love to all, forever!

THE 20,000 FAMILY MARCH CONTINUES TO GATHER MOMENTUM: WEEKLY CALLINGS, GROWING ENERGY, AND UNWAVERING PURPOSE

Saint Louis, MO —
We are now six weeks out from the historic 20,000 Family March scheduled for Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Fairground Park. The call has been made—and every Saturday morning, rain or shine, mist or sunlight, the faithful have gathered at the Bridge in Fairground Park. We are building something no grant funded, no institution approved. This is powered by the people.

We are not waiting for permission. We are claiming the future.

Our 4th Weekly Gathering brought six committed souls into the mist—people who answered the call not out of convenience, but out of conviction. As horns honked and passersby inquired, a presence was felt. Adrian of Black Man Build delivered a rousing oration. My sister joined. First-timers appeared. Flyers were handed out. Seeds were planted.

This is not Rudo’s march. This is the people’s march.

We are gathering to demand accountability, to honor our ancestors, and to envision what a truly liberated North Saint Louis could look like. The displacement, marginalization, and erasure ends when we say it ends. No one is coming to save us. We must rise as one.

UPCOMING GATHERINGS
Saturdays at 10:00 AM at the Bridge in Fairground Park:

May 11
May 18
May 25 (Memorial Day Weekend)
June 1
June 8
June 15 (Father’s Day Weekend)
Main March: Sunday, June 22, 2025
Location: Fairground Park | Time: 2:00 PM

We call on all media outlets, community organizations, fraternities, sororities, churches, schools, and everyday people to share this message. This is your invitation. This is your moment.

Join the movement. Spread the word. Stand for the future.

4th Weekly Gathering Report – The Mist, The Message, and the March

Date: Saturday, May 4, 2025
Location: The Bridge at Fairground Park
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
Weather: Cloudy, cool, misty turning to light rain
Attendance: 6 committed souls with hearts on fire

We gathered in the mist, and stood in the truth.

Six of us—strong, steady, and soaked in purpose—stood under gray skies this morning for the 4th Saturday Gathering in preparation for the 20,000 Family March.

I went live at 10:15 AM and spoke what’s on my mind: this march is not mine—it is ours. It's not just a walk, it’s a reckoning, a return, a resurrection of unity long buried under silence and separation.

Adrian took the baton and spoke his truth with fire. My sister joined us. Two first-timers came with questions and left with clarity. Cars slowed. Horns honked. Fliers were passed. Eyes opened. And for a moment, the street remembered us.

At 11:15, the mist turned to a light rain, and like prophets in training, we dispersed—each of us carrying a piece of the call.

They may say “only six came.”
But Gideon had 300.
Jesus started with 12.
Garvey lit a fire that spread from a handful to millions.

We are not small.
We are the spark before the flame.
We are the drumbeat before the march.
We are the ancestors’ answer to the silence.

Join us next Saturday at 10 AM. Come see what faith looks like. Come be part of history. Come walk with your people.

7 Attend Latest Gathering for 20,000 Family March, Showcasing Unity and Commitment

St. Louis, April 26, 2025 – The third gathering leading up to the 20,000 Family March took place yesterday, with an inspiring turnout of seven community members, including both elders and young people, all coming together to discuss the march's progress and significance. The event was highlighted by a powerful spoken word piece from a talented young lady, Authority, and an uplifting moment at the end when a young attendee led the group in a heartfelt prayer.

The gathering's discussions centered around the importance of unity within families and the community. Everyone in attendance shared their truths, highlighting the diverse voices that are integral to the cause. The energy was palpable, and attendees expressed that the march is no longer a distant goal — it is already in progress. The community's momentum is growing, and all participants are encouraged to join the next gathering, continuing to build towards the 20,000 strong march.

Additionally, members of the independent press were in attendance and requested an interview with the organizer, who agreed to speak on the importance of the march and the ongoing community engagement.

As part of continuing outreach efforts, flyers for the next gathering will be distributed throughout the neighborhoods surrounding Fairground Park, inviting more members of the community to participate and further expand the movement.

The 20,000 Family March is building not just an event, but a movement of families, neighbors, and friends committed to standing together for a better future.
