Our unit met on April 29th at Schlafly Bottleworks for a Hobby/Crafter Luncheon. This was a show and or tell event. We brought a sample of a hobby or a craft that we enjoy. While waiting for our delicious meal, each of us took a few minutes to explain our hobby/craft. It was a wonderful afternoon learning about each other's talent and interest.

Members of our MTRA Unit recently attended the Annual Leadership Conference in Jefferson City. It was an action packed few days with Legislative Day being added to the conference. Lots of impressive legislators spoke at the dome and at the luncheon. There was an awesome panel discussion that Dave Baker was involved in. It was a super informative and impressive event. Thank you Sandy Berry for the report and the photos. Click on each picture for the caption.

Although, it was indoors, it was a beautiful day in St. Louis for a scavenger hunt. Our MRTA unit met for this fun activity at the Missouri History Museum this morning. We tested our ability to find the answers to questions on the clue sheet Rosina Favazza-Palmer created. We learned a lot. Some members worked individually and others worked in pairs. Prizes were given to the top 2 individuals/teams that got all the correct answers in the shortest time. Afterwards, MRTA members lunched in "The Key Bistro" restaurant located in the museum.

Here's a message from Donna Lainoff, Community Impact Chairperson for Region 8 and STL Co & SSD Unit

"Happy Holidays! As always everyone was enormously generous! All totaled donations came to 140 items!
Let me break that down.
40 hats, 53 gloves/ mittens, 27 pairs of socks, 15 hygiene items, 3 t-shirts, 1 sweatshirt and 1 scarf.
They will all be donated to the Little Bit Foundation.
Thank you all very much!"🥰

The items were collected at our Annual Holiday Luncheon and haven't been dropped off yet. The Thank You card is from the Little Bit Foundation for the school supplies our STL Co & SSD Unit recently donated.

Members of our unit enjoyed a Holiday Luncheon at Bandana's BBQ Restaurant in Sunset Hills, MO. Our guest speaker was Eric Knost, former Superintendent of Rockwood and Mehlville School Districts. He represents Across the Aisle for Missouri Public Schools (AAMPS) and spoke about not giving vouchers for private schools. We collected winter hats, gloves, scarves, and mittens to help the Little Bit Foundation and donated to the Patty Dean Foundation. Our unit president, Sheree Borcherding, gave out gifts to her board members and winners of the game we played got to take home the table decorations.😀

Our October event was a delicious lunch at Ragazzi's on the Hill followed by a Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Company Factory tour. Our tour guide, Ricky, was very informative and friendly. We learned about the history of the company as well as how the Chocolate candies are made. It was a wonderful afternoon.
