I'm pleading with you to listen to these two songs. Really listen to the words. There is so much realism in these performances and so much to understand about the true struggles of those who suffer from many mental health-related symptoms.

Please don't just give this a thumbs up and move on. I am not looking for credit, nor am I looking for the results of "likes" or sad face emojis.

Pull over and find the lyrics and read them. Stop whatever you are doing for just a few minutes and begin to understand the pain and the hopelessness someone else might feel. I plead with you just to slow your world down and spend 3 minutes in thought.

If you are not severely moved by the words and these performances then by all means go about your day. But if you are like me, and moved to tears, then reach out to someone you feel might need you. Those who struggle with depression, suicidal ideation/thoughts, and more, are not very capable or willing to reach out to you. We don't believe you will understand. And most likely, you can't convince us otherwise. We don’t necessarily need you to understand. We just need you…

You may have to click each link as I am unsure if both tabs were posted.

The lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, performed this song. Chester committed su***de just 2 months after performing the song "Hallelujah" at the funeral of Chris Cornell, who also committed su***de. Both were incredible talents and truly expressed the "before" and "after" of someone who struggles and those left pleading for understanding with these performances.

Can I get an “Amen”?!? We just left the annual De Soto Elks awards ceremony, as we have the last few years at their request. They always honor our work and we leave with a check to continue helping others.

This year we left with $5,500! That is half our annual budget that we operate from.

I wish I could be more specific on how this helps people, but it does beyond any words.

There are so many ways we try to help families financially when su***de becomes a part of their life. But let me say this, when su***de or suicidal thoughts enter into a family the last thing you’re thinking is “how will I pay for the needs?”. You just do what you have to do. You don’t realize how that impacts a family’s finances and that can often be the reason help is not sought.

Because of the De Soto Elks Lodge we can continue helping in whatever a family might need.
