CALLING FOR SUPPLY DONATIONS!

Access to the rainforest can be life-changing. 🌱
Our scholarship program makes it possible for students to experience the rainforest firsthand. Participants learn directly about biodiversity, conservation, and the importance of protecting these ecosystems.

To support our group from Black Girls Do STEM and their 2026 return to the rainforest with new students, we are in need of supplies for our students. Please check out the wishlists for supplies listed in the comments below!

This GiveSTL Day, May 7, Friends of the Rainforest needs your support to provide life-changing environmental learning opportunities for young people from the St. Louis area.

In 2024, FOTR partnered with an incredible organization called Black Girls Do STEM and together we embarked on a journey to take 8 of their students to experience the wonders of the rainforest through our Crandell-Waller Scholarship Program.

July, 2026 will mark our second trip with BGDSTEM to visit the Children’s Eternal Rainforest and we need your help to get this new round of students to the rainforest this summer!

These trips are far more than an exploration of the forest. The scholarship recipients attend several education workshops prior to the trip and participate in research projects while in the forest. These experiences will allow them to make connections to the natural world and inspire them to become young environmentalists.

This Thursday, please consider being a FRIEND and giving to FOTR this GiveSTL Day to help us get more students to the rainforest to be inspired and take action to project these crucial regions.

We are very excited to announce Natalie Lucas as the new Friends of the Rainforest Executive Director! 🌿

With a background in tropical forest ecology and global climate advocacy, Natalie has spent her career building and supporting organizations that protect people and the planet. From founding youth climate initiatives to working with international environmental networks, she brings a deep passion for equitable, restorative conservation to Friends of the Rainforest.
When she’s not working, you can find her hiking, exploring, or curled up with a good book and her cats 🐈
