The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Basic Training was conducted in three locations in Mt. Elgon from 23rd to 25th July 2026, with generous support from African Great Lakes Initiative (AGLI) in collaboration with Kenyan AVP facilitators. The trainings sought to strengthen participants’ understanding and practical skills in nonviolent conflict transformation, personal development, communication, relationship building, and peaceful conflict resolution.

During April 2026, the Children’s Peace Libraries continued to provide educational and peacebuilding activities for children in different communities. The libraries served a large number of children through reading programs, peace club activities, read-aloud sessions, debates, and other creative learning activities. These activities aimed to promote a culture of reading, peace, cooperation, leadership, and positive behavior among children.
