This year, Explore St. Louis also welcomed Dan Sattel and Christianne Klein, founders of the FoodFamilyTravel brand, along with their globe-trotting seven-year-old daughter.

Although Sattel hails from St. Louis, he set out to experience his hometown through a visitor’s lens – “with curiosity, discovery and a willingness to be surprised.”

📢 National Spotlight on the Slinger 🍝
In March, Explore St. Louis hosted a culinary media tour that proved impossible to resist, especially for a writer from Tasting Table, who fell headfirst for St. Louis’ gloriously excessive slinger.

Now, the publication is taking that obsession national, quoting vice president of communications Catherine Neville, who explains: “A slinger is not subtle. It’s a full plate of ‘yes’ when you should probably be saying ‘no,’ [but] you have to try it. It gives you a better sense of the city than anything curated ever will.”
