Congratulations to SLMPD K-9 Finn and Officer Brian Eisele on an incredible accomplishment!

The duo recently earned the Overall Championship ("Top Dog") at the AMPWDA K-9 Police Nationals in Atlanta, competing against elite police K-9 teams from across the country. The title recognizes excellence across multiple disciplines, including obedience, tracking, searches, and protection work.

This achievement is a testament to the countless hours of training, dedication, teamwork, and trust between handler and K-9.

We are proud to celebrate Officer Eisele and K-9 Finn for representing St. Louis on the national stage and bringing home the championship. Congratulations on a job well done!

🏆🐾 Congratulations to SLMPD K-9 Finn and PO Brian Eisele! 🐾🏆

The St. Louis Police Officers Association is proud to congratulate SLMPD K-9 Finn and his handler, Police Officer Brian Eisele, on winning the Overall Championship (Top Dog) at the American Mantrailing, Police & Work Dog Association (AMPWDA) K-9 Police Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia.

The "Top Dog" title is awarded to the team that excels across every phase of competition, including obedience, tracking, article searches, and bite work. Competing against elite police K-9 teams from across the country, Finn and Brian rose to the top and brought the championship home to St. Louis.

Finn's story is as unique as his accomplishment. Bred in Denmark, he traveled internationally before joining the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and even required a passport to enter the United States. Like many European working dogs, Finn responds to commands given in Dutch.

And speaking of passports, the full name on his passport is Huckleberry Finn.

Which means the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department employed both Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. 😳😂

One is a retired police officer and co-host of our partners at The Brighter Side of Blue Podcast.

The other just won a national K-9 championship.

Mark Twain would probably get a kick out of that.

In all seriousness, this achievement represents countless hours of training, discipline, teamwork, and trust between handler and K-9. Brian and Finn have made the entire department and community proud.

Please join us in congratulating PO Brian Eisele and K-9 Finn on this incredible accomplishment.

👏🐾 Congratulations, gentlemen! St. Louis is proud of you👍💙

Before help arrives, there’s a voice on the other end of the line, steady, focused, and ready. Dispatchers guide people through some of their hardest moments, all while making sure first responders have what they need to act fast.

They may not be seen, but their impact is felt in every call, every response, every life helped.

The St. Louis Police Foundation is grateful for all they do to support and protect St. Louis.
