The Women of Sudan Illustrators is an alliance of women of color affiliated with Sudan Illustrators whose mission is to provide forums, festivals, marketplaces, discussion groups and promotional items designed to promote healing, self love, self respect and self reliance designed to empower people of color and connect them to their African culture, views, values and perspectives.

Come out and celebrate the Opening Day of Kwanzaa With Us on the Day of Umoja (Unity) for KWANZAA NGOMA - Continuing The Legacy of Dhati Majaliwa Kennedy on Tuesday, December 26th somewhere around 8 pm at Exodus Gallery, 5075 Delmar Blvd. We will have the traditional Candle Lighting Ceremony, Inspiring Music by Ngoma and Revolutionary Word Warriors.

The Honorable Marcus M. Garvey, Founder of UNIA, brought us the Red, Black & Green flag on August 13, 1920 100 years ago. In honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Red, Black and Green Flag and the legacy passed down to us by our ancestors feel free to proudly fly, wear and/or carry the Red, Black and Green on Thursday, August 13, 2020 and throughout the month of August.

If you need a flag they are 3' X 5' flags available at Progressive Emporium & Education Center (PPEC). They can be picked up by appointment. Please call 314 875-9277.

If 500K can be raised for someone who killed one of our youth we can surely raise 25K for our youth. Please help send 4 youth leaders to S Africa for an Educational tour and experience of a lifetime. Elijah, Malaika, Mariamma and Haile have worked very hard in their community, in school and in Good Journey Development Foundation. click on the link and check out the updates and videos featuring them. Leave them some encouraging words and please give whatever you can.

Hope to see everyone this evening at our event as we Honor our Warrior Women who fight for justice in many arenas. The Frances E. Jarnegan 2012 “Believers” Award recognizes the commitment, dedication and uplifting work towards the liberation of Afrikan people that Jamala Rogers, Safiyah Chauvin, Shirley LeFlore and Alice Windom have championed throughout their respective lives. This fundraiser will also help to support the Frances Jarnegan (Mama Frances) Library and foundation. The Afrikan Market Place will showcase thriving businesses and provide opportunities to bid on valuable collectibles (silent auction). A limited amount of tickets will be avail for sell at the door or you can purchase them online
