Old North St Louis/ St Louis Place Chess Club is celebrating 10 years of weekly chess club in Old North!

Old North St Louis/ St Louis Place Chess Club is a US Chess affiliated club and an offshoot of the Treme Chess Club that originated in New Orleans.

The Treme Chess Club began with Jeffrey Vollmer and neighbors building outdoor chess tables in New Orleans, used for both casual and rated chess. When Jeffrey moved to St. Louis in the summer of 2016, he began a weekly outdoor club on Saturdays at the Chess Pocket Park on N 14th Street in Old North.
The club runs USCF rated tournaments weekly, from 8am to 12pm on Saturday mornings in the park. Game in 40 standard, cost $1. During inclement weather the club has been meeting inside at The Daily Drip Coffee Cafe - just across the street on 14th. All chess players welcome!
