72 days. 2 hours from home. One Heart House. 💛
What started as a routine heart cath last August turned into an unexpected open heart surgery, and 72 days at St. Louis Children’s Hospital — with no end date in sight. His family is from Westfield, Illinois, and big brother Caycen was able to come stay and be with his parents through every bit of it because of Heart House.
Ashyr just turned 1 on April 22nd! He is growing, thriving, and showing everyone exactly who he is. 🎂

Meet EJ. 💛
Emmett James came into the world on April 25th, 2025 as a TGA Heart Warrior and after 6 weeks in the CICU at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, he went home to his family west of Jefferson City a fighter, a little brother, and apparently a very enthusiastic eater! 🍼
His big sister, Emma, visited him while staying at Heart House with their parents. While there, she played in a real living room, slept in a real bed and fell head over heels for EJ at first sight - tubes, monitors, and all.
Today EJ is walking, climbing, jabbering, and thriving in every sense of the word.
Heart House exists for families like EJ’s. So no one has to be far away during the hardest moments of their lives.

When an urgent need for a family came up, we kicked it in gear this week to get Heart House IIB open. I built A LOT of furniture. It’s still pretty bare and the duvet is Pepto pink 🤦‍♀️. But, today, we are thrilled to have our second floor apartment open - complete with special homemade touches from our daughters - and to welcome our first family! 💕💕💕

✨ We are honored to announce our partnership with Love, Amy ✨
Heart House is joining with Love, Amy, an organization created in memory of Amy Buss, a devoted mom whose family spent time in the NICU. Together, we share a commitment to supporting families through some of their hardest days. 💛
With this partnership, each Heart House family will receive a Love, Amy gift bag, thoughtfully curated with hospital essentials to help ease their time at Children’s.
We are so grateful to carry Amy’s legacy forward alongside her family and friends. 💕

What a day! 🎉 Our 2nd Annual Heart House Bocce Tournament was a huge success. A big congratulations to the Zimmerman family for taking home the win! 🏆👏

It was a scorcher! 🌞🔥 Thank you to everyone who came out and played (and cheered!) in the heat. We’re so grateful for this community’s support. ❤️
