Sad to hear about the passing of legendary Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox. He was 84 years old.

Steve Porter, a member of the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Committee and 2023 inductee, will be enshrined in the Illinois Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, July 25.

The event is set for the Abraham Lincoln Downtown Hotel in Springfield, IL. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a buffet starting at 5 and the program at 6.

Tickets are $100 each and June 15 is the deadline to purchase them. Contact Tim Turpin at 812-430-2725 or check the website at ilshof.com for more information.

Steve will also be inducted to the National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame Nov. 22 in St. Louis. Contact Turpin for additional info.

Happy birthday to former St. Louis Cardinals star Chris Carpenter, who was inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

Carpenter was a dominant ace for the Cardinals and won the National League Cy Young Award in 2005, finishing with a 21-5 record, 2.83 ERA, and 213 strikeouts. He was the first Cardinals pitcher to win the award since Bob Gibson in 1970.
