Meet Molly! Molly, a recent graduate of Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience, has chosen to pursue her Girl Scout Gold Award by creating a project in service of SJHI. For her project, she is creating a volunteer corps of youth volunteers who will maintain the landscaping at all six SJHI properties this summer, as well as work on a sustainable system to continue connecting teens and youth with service opportunities at SJHI in future. We are so grateful to Molly for her initiative and passion for this mission, as well as her desire to engage her peers in volunteerism. Things are taking shape! With this new drywall, the SJHI project under renovation is starting to look like house! Sooner than you know it, it will be the first HOME of a first-time homebuyer of low and moderate income. Let’s Go!

This year’s theme, Harvesting Home, reflects the bountiful rewards of nine years of planting and nurturing the seeds of vision and faith. We will celebrate the 17 SJHI homeowner families in their homes, share about our 6 projects currently underway, and come together to generate support ensuring the continuation of this work: Helping Homeownership Happen! SJHI HRA class: Next Steps-- Estate Planning 🏠 This Monday, SJHI held a brand new class on title, wills, trust, and all that goes into securing the valuable asset of your home. SJHI is committed to not just helping people access homeownership, but helping them succeed. We are so grateful to Katrina Vincent from Elite Title and Kurt Schmidt, Attorney at Law for sharing their expertise. It's always a good thing to begin the week with gratitude for volunteers. Members from St. Mary's Wrestling team have been serving with SJHI every Friday afternoon-- mowing and maintaining yards as well as other projects. In addition to projects in the house, these volunteers extracted three huge yew bushes to make way for renovation work and fresh new landscaping.
