Self-Care Sunday: In with new out with the TOXIC

Hey ladies! I started looking into more self care to give more tactical tips about self care that wasn't so cookie cutter and stereotypical. I found an article dedicated to self care for black women that mentioned self care for your spirit, and it talked about creating healthy boundaries. This has been hard for me in the past, but there are five principles I think are important to have for ourselves to evaluate whether to keep people close in our lives.

1. Do they try their best to UNDERSTAND you? ✅️
2. Are they KIND to you? ✅️
3. Do they RECIPROCATE? ✅️
3. Do they RESPECT you?
4. Are they RELIABLE? ✅️

If all signs point to yes, chances are, this is a person worth keeping, if not, then it's out with the TOXIC 🙅🏾‍♀️

Dear black woman, I understand the feeling of thinking you need to please everyone, however, please remember that you cannot pour from an empty cup. There will be times when you have to make the decision to put your mental and/or physical health first before being able to help someone else. Please remember that that is okay.

What are some ways you care for you physical or mental health?
