Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas The Foundation’s all-volunteer Board of Directors is made up of professionals from all walks of life.

Created in 1955 as a grassroots effort to help people with epilepsy, the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas is a not-for-profit 501c(3) serving the two state area, offering advocacy and educational services to people with epilepsy, their families, and the communities in which they live. A Professional Advisory Board made up of over 20 board-certified epileptologists, pediatric neurologists

, pharmacologists, social workers, psychologists, and nurse educators from Missouri and Kansas advises on education, services, research, and advocacy programs. The Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas is your unwavering ally on your journey with epilepsy and seizures. The Foundation is a community-based organization dedicated to improving the lives of all people impacted by seizures. We are here for you, whether you live with epilepsy, have a loved one with seizures, or have a desire to improve lives for people impacted by epilepsy.

Yesterday, the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri & Kansas had the pleasure of providing a Seizure Recognition and First Aid training for the wonderful team at Artists First!

Artists First is a St. Louis-based nonprofit that empowers artists of all abilities through accessible, inclusive creative experiences. Their person-centered approach helps individuals explore their artistic potential while building community, confidence, and connection. We are so grateful for the Bingman Foundation, the Bingman family and Bingman Constructions for choosing EFMK as the beneficiary for their charity golf tournament yesterday. We really appreciate their generosity and community leadership that will make a meaningful difference for individuals and families impacted by epilepsy throughout our community. We also want to thank all of the tournament sponsors, volunteers and participants. It was a beautiful day with an important purpose!

We are so grateful for the support of PLB!

The Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas Receives Funding from The Productive Living Board of St. Louis County.

At its May board meeting, the Productive Living Board of St. Louis County (PLB) approved a $24,822 investment in EFMK’s Independent Living Program and Education Program.

In FY27, PLB approved $31,787,562 in total community investments supporting more than 4,600 individuals and families across St. Louis County. These publicly funded services help residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) live more independently and participate fully in their communities.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas Receives Funding from the St. Louis Office for Developmental Disability Resources.

We are extremely grateful for the funding from DD Resources to help fund our life changing programs in the city of St. Louis.

At its May board meeting, the St. Louis Office for Developmental Disability Resources (DD Resources) approved a $44,148 investment in EFMK's Independent Living Program and Education Program.

In FY27, DD Resources approved $7,654,593 in total community investments supporting almost 1,600 individuals and families across St. Louis City. These publicly funded services help residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) live more independently in an inclusive community that maximizes individual abilities.

Through this partnership, DD Resources and EFMK are working together to ensure all individuals with developmental disabilities have access to quality services, choice, greater independence, and full inclusion in community life.

Meet Amanda! She is a Saint Louis University student studying neuroscience on the pre-med track and a dedicated epilepsy advocate. Living with epilepsy herself, she shares her journey with honesty to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support others. Through her involvement with the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas and the Teen and Young Adult Board, Amanda is committed to using her voice to empower others and create meaningful change.
