Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas

The Foundation’s all-volunteer Board of Directors is made up of professionals from all walks of life.

Created in 1955 as a grassroots effort to help people with epilepsy, the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas is a not-for-profit 501c(3) serving the two state area, offering advocacy and educational services to people with epilepsy, their families, and the communities in which they live. A Professional Advisory Board made up of over 20 board-certified epileptologists, pediatric neurologists, pharmacologists, social workers, psychologists, and nurse educators from Missouri and Kansas advises on education, services, research, and advocacy programs. The Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas is your unwavering ally on your journey with epilepsy and seizures. The Foundation is a community-based organization dedicated to improving the lives of all people impacted by seizures. We are here for you, whether you live with epilepsy, have a loved one with seizures, or have a desire to improve lives for people impacted by epilepsy.

It’s been a privilege attending the Epilepsy Foundation of America’s 2026 Public Health Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma, representing EFMK💜

This year’s theme, Building Inclusive Communities & Collaborations to Achieve Epilepsy Equity, brought together advocates, public health professionals, healthcare providers, and community partners to share ideas and strengthen the epilepsy community.

We especially enjoyed connecting with Dr. Jonathan Williams from Washington University, a valued partner in our work here in Missouri. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and bring new ideas back to the communities we serve. 💜
