This is a tribute we did at Kutis Affton Sunday afternoon. She was a 94 year old nurse that several members had worked with at Alexian Brothers hospital. She also volunteered at the deGreeff Hospice House years ago. The family stated she wanted to come to deGreeff for 2 weeks, she lived 2 days ❤️. This is a tribute we did for a nurse that worked with patients in every stage if life. Her favorite was at Shriners Children's hospital, she ended her career in Hospice, and at the end of her life she herself received the benefits of Hospice. -Lisa Gregg

This evening we had the privilege of honoring a nurse described by her family as “…one of the good ones. Good to the core. She cared deeply, she loved her family deeply, and she’s irreplaceable.” After graduating from St Mary’s College of Nursing in O’Fallon MO, she worked as a nurse for 20 years. She was active in her faith, with the VFW, spending time with her family and friends, playing bingo, and reading. A life well-lived. - Mary Kay

It was an honor celebrating you on today for your years of serving in the specialty of Dialysis.

We attended a deeply moving ceremony this morning.  In collaboration with the Nurse Honor Guard of South Central Illinois, we honored a nurse who dedicated her entire career from the beginning of life in pediatrics to the end of life in geriatrics, and finally as a perish nurse for her church. This was a powerful reminder of the incredible span of care and comfort one person can bring to a community over a lifetime.

Having many colleagues present who shared different chapters of her journey made the tribute even more special and personal. This was such a meaningful moment of reverence and camaraderie among the nurses.- Linda George
