Thanks to our alliance school kids, curriculum committee, gardeners and other GHV supporters that helped plant all these amazing vegetables and herbs! This is urban agriculture which is an important part of our mission at the GHV!🌱

APRIL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE ON THE GHV CAMPUS!🌱🚧

More and More Progress on our NEW EDUCATION CENTER as construction proceeds with Bush Construction!

Once completed, our Education Center is a two story framed building and greenhouse space in the Shaw neighborhood at the corner of DeTonty and Lawrence.

Totaling nearly 9,400 square feet with the basement and
greenhouse, the building will feature classroom space,
growth chambers, food processing, and a rooftop patio with planters to aid in educating elementary students on
sustainability, bio-science, and urban agriculture through a hands on approach.

The state of the art audio visual system
will allow for further outreach to schools outside of the
immediate area via live, virtual teaching or recorded lessons.

Today is the day! In celebration of Give STL Day, we hope you consider donating to the Green House Venture so we can continue providing diverse education initiatives to children throughout the St. Louis region.

We recently received a match donation of $5,000 from an anonymous donor, which means that every donation you make to the Green House Venture WILL BE MATCHED up to $5,000.

Since its inception in 2014, Give STL Day has raised millions of dollars for more than 900 regional non-profit organizations, including the Green House Venture.

The Green House Venture is a unique STEM program taught in a working urban agricultural environment, involving students from four elementary schools in South Central St. Louis, including a new member that joined us this past year:

St. Margaret of Scotland (Parochial)

Mullanphy Investigative Learning Center (Public Magnet)

Tower Grove Christian Academy (Christian)

Lafayette Preparatory Academy (Charter) (Joined GHV in 2024)

Our nearly 2,000 students in those schools represent a diverse socio-economic and geographic spectrum. Reaching out further, the Venture plans to employ advanced communication technology to share its programs with other elementary schools across the St. Louis region and beyond.

On behalf of the schools and students participating in the Green House Venture, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your continuing support. This exceptional program is unique in its design to equip elementary students with the knowledge and skills in bio-science and urban agriculture that are so vital to the sustainability of our planet and the future of our world.
