REMEMBER THIS

English clergyman Thomas Fuller observed, "He does not believe who does not live to his beliefs." These words are most certainly true. We may proclaim our beliefs hearts' content, but our proclamations will mean nothing--to others or to ourselves--unless we accompany our words with deeds that match. The sermons that we live are far more compelling than the ones we preach.

Like it or not, your life is an accurate reflection of your creed. If this fact gives you some cause for concern, don't bother talking about changes that you intend to make--make them. And then, when your good deeds speak for themselves--as they most certainly will--don't interrupt.

We live in a world filled to overflowing with distractions, temptations, frustrations, and obligations. Our need for God is great. We must consult Him often, and we should consult Him in solitude. No time is more valuable than the quiet time we spend with God.

God is the business of making all things new, including you. He will transform your life if you let Him. Your job is to let Him.

Are you in need? Ask God to sustain you. Are you troubled? Take your worries to Him in prayer. Are you weary? Seek God's strength. In all things great or small, Seek God's wisdom and His grace. He hears your prayers, and He will answer. All you must do is ask.

Today, think of a specific need weighing heavily on your heart. Then, spread a few moments asking God for guidance and for His help.

Face it: gossip is bad--and the Bible clearly tells us that gossip is wrong.

So do yourself a favor: don't gossip. It's a waste of words, and it's the wrong thing to do. You'll feel better about yourself if you don't gossip (and people will feel better about you, too).

Life is often challenging, but as followers of Christ, we must not be afraid. God loves us, and He will protect us. In times of hardship, He will comfort us; in times of sorrow, He will dry our tears. We we are troubled, or weak, God is always with us.

We must build our lives on the rock that cannot be shaken . . . we must trust in God. Always.

Today, as a gift to yourself, select, from your friends and family members, a mentor whose judgment you trust. Then listen carefully to your mentor's advice and be willing to accept that advice, even if accepting it requires effort, or pain, or both. Consider your mentor to be God's gift to you. Thank God for that gift, and use it.

God makes His wisdom available to you. Your job is to acknowledge, to understand, and (above all) to use that wisdom.
