It's Wednesday...and here we go again with the "is it going to rain or not?" YES...the Market will OPEN today. We have a great line up of items, as always. Leah will be there with zucchini, a variety of squash, rosemary bread, tintures, cherry tomatoes and some watermelon! Rachel will be there with 4 kinds of cookies, including a red velvet (yum) cookie. They will also have mini bundt cakes and toys for your furry friends. Peggy will be there with peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, onions and garlic. Lindsey will be there with her AMAZING HONEY. Cindy will be back this week with her scrumptious pasta, jams and jellies. Melissa will be there with her beautiful T-Shirts, stunning jewelry and lovely glassware. I will have those wonderful candied nuts, cherry tomatoes, and muddy buddies. Alexia will have her delicious sourdough bread, pizza crust, pretzels, GLUTEN FRIENDLY cookies, cinnamon rolls and focaccia. You never know what other vendors may show up, so be sure you come out and take a look at all the wonderful, fresh from the garden produce and vendor made items. You know your items are being made, grown or baked locally at our Market! The Market is located on the parking lot of the American Legion Post 370. The address is 420 Kelly Ln., Louisiana, MO. We are open from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.

We are getting extremely close to the end of the grant money for the Senior Nutrition Program, so if you have any green tokens, be sure to use them this week or next week at the latest. Once the money is gone, we will end the program. Thanks to everyone who took advantage of this wonderful grant from PCMH!

The County Fair is over and the Market will reopen today! We missed you all last week, but hope you had an enjoyable time at the County Fair. We are watching the weather, but as of right now, it looks like the rain will hold off until after we close this evening, so keep your fingers crossed!! The line-up today is pretty great! Leah will be there with tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, spaghetti and delicata squash, a few watermelon...oh yeah...and rosemary bread, herbal remedies and skin care. Alexia will be there with sourdough, pizza crust, sourdough minis (jalapeno cheddar and pretzel this week,) GLUTEN FREINDLY cookies and 5 different flavors of soft pretzels. Meyer Farm will be there with beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and other produce. Dayla will be featuring a a blackberry zucchini bread, banana bread, peanut butter cookies, granola, zucchini bread, chocolate chip cookies, dry spice mixes and fresh cut flowers. I will have muddy buddies, candied nuts and cherry tomatoes. Rachel will be there with chocolate chip cookies, monster cookies, chocolate cookies and snicker doodles. They will also have simmer pot kits, potpourri sachets picky pads and the fleece pet toys for your furry friends. Louisiana Library will also be there today with their wonderful selection of free books and fun items for the children. Be sure to bring your kiddos out and let them enjoy the adventure of hunting for just the right book!

Could a tick bite make you allergic to bacon, burgers and steak? As strange as it sounds, it can happen.

Alpha-gal syndrome is a serious food allergy linked to the bite of a lone star tick. Symptoms can appear hours after eating beef, pork, venison or other mammal-based products and may range from stomach issues and hives to severe allergic reactions.

Missouri is one of the states where lone star ticks are common, making awareness and prevention especially important. Since there's no cure, preventing tick bites is key and recognizing symptoms early may help you get the care you need.

Spectacular is the word today! We have wonderful weather for the Market today, compared to the past few weeks and we are looking forward to seeing you all! Leah will be there with spaghetti squash, delicata squash, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, blackberries, eggs and rosemary bread. Alexia will have her wonderful sourdough pretzels, sourdough bread and mini loaves, pizza crust, GLUTEN FRIENDLY cookies, regular chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls and focaccia. Dayla will be bringing banana bread, zucchini bread, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, peanut butter cookies, croutons and wildflowers. Kaitlyn will be setting up today with cucumbers, tomatoes, chili peppers, bell peppers, onions and potatoes. I will had several request for green tomatoes last week, so I am bringing more this week. Also cherry tomatoes, candied nuts, green beans and muddie buddies/puppy chow. Marrisa will be there with some gorgeous flowers and arrangements. Also...Dale will be there with her amazing soaps, blueberries, eggs, and wonderful craft items. Cindy will have her delicious homemade pasta, jams and jellies and biscotti, Melissa will be there with her beautiful crafts, jewelry creations and T-Shirts. If the bees have behaved the last few weeks, Lindsey may be there with honey! There may be other vendors coming out, so be sure to check out the Market today and pick up your favorites!
