FAQs
How many total signatures are required?
We need approximately 10,000 signatures. We are aiming for 15,000 to account for any signatures that may be disqualified. This is standard petition practice.
What is the deadline for collecting signatures?
March 30, 2026. However, we will attempt to submit signatures prior to that to allow for plenty of processing time, as each signature must be verified.
Do you accept donations?
Yes, we accept donations. We are a verified political action committee (PAC) with the state of Missouri. We accept checks or cash. Please make checks out to “Recall Mayor Dan Borgmeyer.” If donating cash, you must provide your name, address, employer (if over $25), phone, and email. We publicly disclose every donation we receive to the Missouri Ethics Commission, as required by law. Visit recalldan.com/donate for full instructions and mailing address.
How is this movement funded?
This movement is 100% volunteer-funded. We do not receive any city funds. The work needed for this recall is being done by dedicated citizens on a volunteer basis.
Why do you use the words “possible” or “suspected?”
This is standard legal practice, and we do this for our own protection to avoid a lawsuit that would consume precious time and resources.
Who will take Mayor Dan’s place if the recall is successful?
The Council President would take Mayor Dan’s place until a special election is called.
Who is involved in this movement?
This is a non-partisan, citizen-led movement. It is open to anyone who shares our conviction that St. Charles City deserves transparency, integrity, and accountability from its elected leaders.
