Art Along Scenic Highway 180 – Installation #7
Friends of Scenic 180 is proud to announce the installation of Art Piece Number 7! This fanciful flower sculpture was created by the well-known local artist Lyell Metcalf, whose metal art adds beauty and imagination to our landscape.
This wonderful piece is graciously hosted by the Lovewells on their property next to Valero. We’re grateful for their support in helping bring art to Scenic 180.
Take a moment to stop by, enjoy the view, and celebrate local art in our community! 🎨✨

Artists Rhomie Thompson and Subrina Lorenzo created Hawk and Moon for the Scenic 180 Art Trail, installed on November 12. This striking piece—shaped by clay, metal, wood, and boundless imagination—soars with symbolism and artistry.
A heartfelt thank-you to Lovewell’s Propane for hosting this artwork on the hill at the entrance to their business, giving the community a beautiful place to pause, reflect, and connect.
We hope Hawk and Moon inspires joy, curiosity, and a sense of wonder for all who encounter it.

The Scenic 180 Art Trail is progressing. Funds were raised by volunteers of Friends of Scenic 180 through the Fall Festival, raffles, and private donations. In 2025, we were awarded a Rural Arts Grant from the Fresno Arts Council to complete 4 more highway art pieces. Three new ones are installed and one more is coming in January. Watch for it ! 😊
