We have our monthly free event this Friday!

Have any plastic bottles on hand? Bring them in as we’re about to turn them into something really special. 🌸

At this Friday’s Community Maker Night, we’ll be taking those bottles and creating beautiful flowers for a special upcoming event! Afterwards, they’ll be donated to a local senior living community to brighten their holidays.

And of course, everyone gets to make something to take home too! 🎃 We’ll be making and decorating our own masks to get into the Halloween spirit. Go scary, cute, silly, or somewhere in between. It’s totally up to you!

It’s free, all ages are welcome, and no experience is needed. Just come ready to create and meet some neighbors. 💛

📅 Friday, October 9
🕔 5:00 to 7:30pm
📍 Daventry Community Room, 7721 Painted Daisy Dr, Springfield

Shouting a loud and proud HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our awesome secretary, Jennifer Edwards! 🎉🥳🎂

Jen brings so much fun and care to Community Makers Foundation. You'll find her at our maker events, welcoming makers at the check-in table and making sure everyone feels at home the moment they walk in. She also proudly represented CMF when we presented our community-made flag to the fire station.

We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart she puts into supporting our mission and the makers we serve. We are lucky to have you, Jen! 🧡💙

Please join us in wishing Jennifer a very happy birthday and a wonderful year ahead! 🎂

This month, our Community Maker Night fell on September 11, marking twenty-five years since 2001.
Here in Springfield, 9/11 isn’t distant history. The Pentagon is just up the road, and the fire and rescue community that serves our neighborhoods are many of the same that answered the call that day.
So we spent the evening with Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Department as our special guests. Together, makers of all ages took reclaimed and recycled materials and turned them into a wood relief American flag. It’s one of a kind, made by many hands, and turned out truly beautiful.
We donated the finished flag to GSVFD as a heartfelt thank-you to the first responders who showed up for this community then and have continued to do so every day since.
Makers also upcycled old glass jar lids into magnets to take home, a small keepsake from a meaningful night.
To everyone who came, remembered, and created with us: thank you. 🤍

Make an impact from just cleaning out your closet!
The Second Life Drive is happening now: we’re looking for all art supplies, gently used clothing, shoes and home goods (sorry, no furniture!). What we can reuse becomes the next CMF project or take-home kit, and everything else turns into funding 💰for community art workshops and free art programs for kids at Title I schools and members of our partner nonprofits.
Drop off anytime in Springfield, and if you’re in Daventry, Request a pickup, link in bio. First pickup window: Labor Day weekend! Now through the 15th of November. Let’s keep those items out of the landfills, give your things a second life all while supporting art programing in your community, that’s what we call a win-win-win! ♻️
