In August, our program supports Women's Medical Respite of Springfield and their mission to deliver holistic care in a safe and clean temporary home for women experiencing homelessness who are too ill to recover on the streets.

The Women’s Medical Respite aims to bridge the gap between the hospital and the streets by providing safe, recuperative care services to promote successful recovery from illness, injury, surgery, and other medical conditions, including:

⭐A safe, clean, 24-hour home-like environment at no cost
⭐Nutritious food
⭐Transportation to medical appointments
⭐Assistance with medications
⭐Coordination of home health services
⭐Referrals for housing and primary care

Did You Know?

The average woman who comes to Women's Medical Respite has experienced **268 days of homelessness** before arriving at our doors.

That's nearly **nine months** without the safety, stability, and support that so many of us take for granted.

For the women we serve, homelessness often means trying to recover from illness or injury without a safe place to rest, manage medications, or access consistent care. By the time they come to us, they've spent months navigating unimaginable challenges while simply trying to survive.

Women's Medical Respite exists to change that story—providing a safe place to heal and take the next steps toward improved health and stability.
