Ladies and gents it’s that amazing time of year to help out for a great cause!!! The2nd annual Unified Fishing Tournament. We have joined once again this year with the Special Olympics of Missouri. Good morning FB followers and supporters!!!! As I have had a few days to look back and reflect on this years banquet I can’t help but be very humbled. The support they we have behind this chapter and where it’s going is absolutely incredible. As most of you know the banquet was sold out two weeks prior to the event and we still had to find room for more. People insisted on wanting to come and support a great cause! So with that I personally want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart! It means the world to me and all of our sponsors and volunteers that we get to work with throughout the year.
So of you may know this past year we were able to partner up with Special Olympics of SW and be the first ever to host a Unified 🐠 tournament. The turn out was amazing for a first event. So for 2026 we are hosting to of those Unified fishing tournaments. So look forward to more details coming soon.
The reason I bring this up in this post is because we were thankful enough to have the Special Olympics athletes and and a few of the administrators join us at this year’s banquet. Very thankful for that. In the future I pray that our partnership will grow and be one stronger as we host more events with them.
We were also able to join partnerships with Parmele Ranch Co. which consists of over 500 acres of amazing Ozark hills and valleys that we were able to take a young disabled gentleman out for his first ever Whitetails hunt! Again they were also able to join us at our banquet this year as well. Amazing people that we look forward to do more with in the future.
Strips LTD was also with us this year. We partnered with them to do a lot of things for the unified fishing tournament and to do a lot with the chapter as well. Again amazing people and we look forward to many more adventures with them as well.
Brian’s wildlife Studio joined us again this year. Brian his been an amazing sponsor that always goes above and beyond to support what we do. Brian thank you so very much for your continued support.
David Dentler with Dentler Auction Service has also been an amazing sponsor and has continued to show their support every year and doing an amazing job for our banquet every year.
Richardson Knives has been another amazing sponsor that has showed continuous support the last few years also. We are very thankful for them as well.
I hope that each and everyone of you had an amazing time this and look forward to next year! As I close out this post I want to let everyone know that we will be doing continuous events and a few shows this year. Please watch for updated schedules and things that are going on through out this year.
One more thing with the banquet being a full house and roughly 315 people we were maxed out at that venue so more than likely we will be looking at bigger and better venues soon so we can continue to be bigger and better with everyone’s great support! Again thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers and most importantly DanVogt ( field rep for Whitetails Unlimited) for everyone’s hard work dedication and continued support!!! Looking forward to 2026!!!!

Celebrate Conservation & Hunting Heritage – Join Us for the 2026 SoMO Whitetails Banquet!

Happy Holidays from all of us at SoMO Whitetails!

As we wrap up an incredible year, it’s time to start looking ahead to one of our favorite traditions—the 2026 SoMO Whitetails Banquet. It will be here before you know it, and we can’t wait to share what your support has helped us accomplish in 2025.

Thanks to your generosity and commitment to preserving our hunting heritage, we’ve achieved some amazing milestones:

First Annual Unified Fishing Tournament – In partnership with Jesse Williams, Hailey Blevins and Special Olympics–Springfield, we brought together 17 teams, countless volunteers, and incredible athletes for a day of fellowship and fishing fun. The smiles said it all! We’re thrilled to announce two tournaments planned for 2026.
Adaptive Hunting Equipment – With your help, we purchased a specialized shooting apparatus from Be Adaptive Equipment, empowering disabled youth and veterans to experience the thrill of hunting.
Changing Lives Outdoors – We took a disabled youth on his very first hunt. While the big buck got away, his excitement didn’t! He’s already planning his next adventure—a spring turkey hunt—with his family and our chapter.

These moments remind us why we do what we do: to pass down our love for the outdoors, protect our wildlife, and create opportunities for everyone to experience the joy of hunting and conservation.

Lord just want to say thank you showing me the outdoors and what it means to be an amazing creator! Lord let us watch your amazing work come alive this morning as we wait for a possibly one of the best creatures known man walk by and have a chance to put food on the table for our families. Lord keep us safe, guide us and protect us as you would. Lord keep our aim true, our hearts full of happiness and joy and most of all let us make memories that will last a lifetime!!! Gracious heavenly name Amen! Good luck to all the hunters out there! Drop the pics in the comments!

So this past weekend here in Missouri was the first portion of youth rifle season. The So-Mo Whitetails got the privilege of take a special boy out for his first time ever deer hunt! Man did he have a blast!!! We took him to a ranch here in the Ozark’s that will just flat take your breathe away. Not only does it have tremendous numbers of wildlife, this ranch also has Highlanders and Bison on the ranch. Zach is a one of a kind little man that anyone should get the privilege to meet. Not only is he smart, respectful, responsible and most of all pretty witty for 9yrs old. He never lets anything get in his way of life. For a little man that has certain disabilities they never faze him. He stuck it out both days from 2:30am according to his mom waking her and says it’s time to go hunting he spent both days of youth season in the blind from dusk until dawn trying to shoot his perfect deer. We seen several deer each day but we just didn’t get the best shoot to pull the trigger. He got to shoot with a shooting apparatus that is basically a video game for a little kid. And man it didn’t take long for him to figure out how to use it. He got to experience seeing gods creation wake up of a morning and go to sleep at night. He got to have close encounters not only with deer but also with highlanders and the bison that are on the ranch. With all of this he got to experience not once did he complain or not one moment without a smile on his face! The chapter is very thankful for his parents for letting him get to experience something that has been close to his heart for a very long time and we thank Mr. Zach for letting us be apart of a very meaningful experience. With all this being said this little man is ready to go again for the second portion of youth season in a few weeks. Mom says he already marked it on his calendar!

Well ladies and gentlemen, the first ever Special Olympics Southwest/ So-Mo Whitetails Unified Fishing Tournament is in the books!!! We had an amazing turnout between athletes, boaters and bank fishers! I am completely overwhelmed with happiness, humbled, and with a full heart to be able to do this with amazing support from Jesse , Haley, Becky, Joy, Glen, my dad, Ryan, Shannon and the rest of the boat volunteers and most importantly the athletes! If it wasn’t for the athletes this wouldn’t have happened. We are already talking about what we are doing next year!!!! Again thank you from the bottom of heart!!! Completely blessed!!!!
