On this National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we recognize the estimated 2.6 million service members who fought in the Vietnam War, and it's estimated about 50% of them were regularly exposed to enemy contact or provided close combat support. We are thankful for you, your life, your sacrifices, and your service to our nation. Remembering this day in 1973 and the last Combat Controllers to leave at the end of the Vietnam War. In the back row (L-R): Lebold, Highland, Williams, Moyer. In the front (L-R): Klyce, Aguilar, Brabham.

In Clinton County for Veterans Day activities…

First off to the Centralia area for the Kaskaskia College Enduring Freedom Veterans Celebration, for a veteran breakfast and fellowship with several alumni flight vets.

Then to the Standing Proud Veterans Tribute Museum for a Flightless Honor Flight presentation honoring three very deserving vets.

It was a memorable day to say the least.

A message from the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight Board of Directors…

At the end of the 2025 flying year, the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight Executive Board takes this moment to thank all those who made this year a success. First, we thank the 374 Veterans we served on our four flights for your service and commitment to our freedom. It was our honor and privilege to serve you. Thanks also to 330+ Guardians who made sure our Veterans had the best day possible and all of our volunteers who work behind the scenes to put these flights in the air. Finally, thanks to our financial and in-kind donors for your continued support of our mission.

We look forward to our three planned flights for 2026: May 5, September 1 and October 20. Please help us continue our mission by encouraging any WWII, Korean Era or Vietnam Era veteran to apply for a flight.
