To be a PROPERLY EQUIPPED MACRO PHOTOGRAPHER IS NOT JUST ABOUT THE EQUIPMENT but also equipping yourself with the how-to knowledge of macro photography. Special guest speaker, Mike Moats, will cover the most important equipment for macro photography - how to control depth of field, composition, and find character in your subjects.

Moats is an internationally award-winning, full-time professional photographer from Michigan who is exclusively focused on macro. He is a Tamron Image Master, Vanguard Pro, and has had articles and images published in many photo magazines for over 20 years. His online Macro Photo Club instructs over 2800 members from 29 countries. Moats also teaches workshops and speaks at photo conference throughout the US.

Mike Moats will present live via ZOOM during our meeting on Thursday, October 23, 7-9PM. Meet as Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library in the Community Room, 2214 S. Brentwood Blvd. in Springfield, Missouri.

Visitors are welcome, free of charge!

A COMPELLING PHOTOGRAPH is more than visual. It's VISCERAL. We don't only see it, we feel it. It's more than just focusing our lenses; it's also focusing the attention of those who will experience our photographs. Great gear helps, but what about the other tools? What about juxtaposition and mystery, story, mood, depth, and energy? What about the power of a great moment? And when it comes to gear, is it enough that we have all the tools, like great optics, or should we be developing a sensitivity to the unique ways in which different focal lengths amplify the feeling of a scene when used well?

During the pre-recorded virtual lecture, every viewer will be given the opportunity to instantly download 3 free bonus resources - two best-selling eBooks (a $42 value) as well as the slideware from David's presentation.

Visitors are welcome, free of charge. Learn more about SWMCC through our website: www.swmocameraclub.org
