The main objectives include:
• To improve physical conditioning while learning skills related to track & field by 50% by season end.
• To prepare young athletes for competition in track & field at local, regional and national levels as measured by the number who make it through each of these levels.
• To motivate athletes to achieve their highest potential (socially, academically and physically)
through mentorship, extra curricular reading and workshops on healthy practices for youth as measured by self reported pre/post surveys and interviews.
• To promote self discipline by teaching young people how to manage their physical, mental and emotional energies and time as measured by participation in track meets and practices.
• To promote teamwork, friendship and good sportsmanship through on-going modeling, mentoring and youth to youth supervised interaction as measured by number of contacts and interactions with adults, at track meets and practices.
• To engage whole families in track activities and create a community of positive strength for all kids and their families to draw upon, develop within and learn proper role modeling.
