Leadership lived: Abigail Frohning of Ste. Marie, Illinois chose for the Medical Laboratory Science Program and the “impressive” placement rate after graduating. “The small class sizes and inclusive campus life makes it so easy to feel right at home,” she said.

⭐Senior Spotlight⭐ Meet Hayley!

Favorite lab department: Blood Bank

Hayley says, "I have loved being part of the Medical Laboratory Science program at UIS! The professors are wonderful. They are kind, knowledgeable, experienced, and always willing to help. Medical Laboratory Science​ is an integral part of the medical field by helping to diagnose and monitor diseases. I cannot wait to begin working in a hospital laboratory!"

⭐Senior Spotlight⭐ Meet Pie!

Favorite lab departments: Microbiology, Hematology, and Blood Banking

Pie says, "After trying to get a degree in biology, I stumbled upon MLS by accident on a brochure. Once I learned the layout of the program, I immediately applied. MLS not only taught me the skills of diagnosis/prognosis of disease but aided me in my leadership skills. I finally found a community that I can fit in and feel like I belong. Everyone in the community is so helpful in expanding skill sets and technical skills. My favorite disciplines are microbiology, Hematology, and blood banking. After graduation, I am planning on getting my masters in MLS while working. Once I rack up my experience, I'm planning on applying for the CDC to do research while also getting my DCLS. MLS was the best choice I could've made for my career. I'm excited to see what this path has for me."
