Perdimos uno de los mejores ayer. Que en paz descanses Jafet Robles. El fue uno de los lideres que comenzó Voces de la Comunidad, y siguió luchando por su comunidad por el grupo vecino a vecino (Neighbor 2 Neighbor).

It is with a truly broken heart that we share with you that Jafet Robles, devoted father and fierce justice warrior now rests in peace, love and power. He was 33 years old. He leaves four children behind. To those of us at N2N who had the blessing of knowing Jafet, he was our Springfield Chapter Lea...

Children of the poor are not fools, and many are of the mind that, on the whole, society really does not give a s**t about them. So when we hear society expressing that “the children are our future” many of us ask, “Whose children and whose future?”
The truth is, when the economy goes into a slump, Americans of all colors fall into worst living conditions. These bad living conditions are not the fault of other colors, so let’s quit looking for scapegoats; sadly, the real culprit is, and has always been, a breed named greed. What else could it be except greed, when it’s a known fact that 2 of the population receive 98 percent of the wealth?
This inequality certainly has to affect the welfare and education of the children of the other 98 percent of the population, who are forced to get by with a measly 2 percent of the national wealth. Besides, who created their wealth in the first place?

As far as I’m concerned, a QUALITY education is the best way to rise above the ghettos and escape out the trap of poverty!!!
Two years ago North End residents formed Voces De La Comunidad .
(Community group) We launched efforts and put pressure on the city of S.P.F.L.D to improve the inhumane conditions of Gerena and return it back to being it a vibrant community center so that at-risk youth in the community can have a safe place to learn, do homework, exercise, be heard etc.
The City Made Us A Lot Of Promises And We Are Still Waiting!!!

After school programs are demonstrable way to reduce youth crime and increase a child’s chances of success yet the school gym doors in my hood remain closed and nothing ever changes . If residents don’t stand up and get involved the north End will continiue to be forgotten.. Let’s do what it takes to ensure that our youth receive a fair chance and have a sense that they matter!!
