Still thinking about all the incredible moments from this year’s GEM (Girl Empowerment Movement) Summit presented by O'Bannon Bank! 💜✨

From STEM and fine arts to leadership, team-building and new friendships, our Club members spent the day exploring their passions, building confidence and discovering new possibilities for their futures.

A big thank you to the team at O’Bannon Bank for helping make this event possible, Chick-fil-A Sunshine & Highway 160 for providing dinner, Discovery Center and Rebound Foundation for partnering with us, and keynote speaker Natalie Wlodarczyk of Drury University for sharing about the impact of music therapy. 🎶

And of course, thank you to the many BGCS staff members who worked so hard behind the scenes to create such a meaningful day for our girls. 👏 👏

🌟 Lights, camera, celebration! 🌟

Over 150 Boys & Girls Club members walked the red carpet at the annual CHAR-acter Dinner hosted by Char Steakhouse & Oyster Bar.

This special evening, made possible through the generous support of Mike Jalili and his team, honored youth who showed outstanding dedication to their education by improving their grades or maintaining an A/B average — all while giving back through community service. 💙 This long partnership with Jalili has created such a wonderful tradition of recognition and celebration!

We’re so proud of these Club members and grateful to everyone who made this unforgettable night possible, including our incredible board members and staff!

We're so excited to welcome Eryn Pruitt to Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield as our new Director of Development!

Eryn brings valuable nonprofit development experience, most recently serving on the development team at FosterAdopt Connect. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and will soon complete her master’s in social work.

Her passion for child welfare and youth development makes her a wonderful addition to our team and mission.

Please join us in congratulating Amber Alcorn on her promotion to Vice President of Development at Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield!

Over the past 13 years, Amber has served in a variety of impactful roles, beginning as a Youth Development Professional at BGCS before leading as a Club Director for several years. After serving as Director of Communication and Volunteerism at United Way of the Ozarks, she returned to BGCS and has led strategic communications efforts over the past two years.

Our second annual Archery Tournament was a huge success! This program gives our upper‑elementary members the chance to build skills and learn the sport before heading into middle school — and they showed incredible focus and determination!

👏 Congratulations to our winning teams:
• 3rd Place: Henderson Unit
• 2nd Place: Stalnaker Unit
• 1st Place: Musgrave Unit

And a big shoutout to our overall top scorers — Rikku, Whitney, and our first‑place champion Jakayleb, who scored an impressive 123/150!!

A brand‑new program this year, these athletes showed up, worked hard all semester, and proved what dedication can do. Recently, they brought home a WIN at the MCDA Championship Springfield Showdown!

We’re incredibly proud of their teamwork, spirit, and grit.

Thank you to Springfield Public Schools, Springfield, MO for recognizing Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield this week as a Partner in Excellence at the third annual Community Partner and Volunteer Celebration! We’re proud to partner with SPS in serving youth and families across Springfield and helping young people reach their full potential.

This year’s celebration honored 11 outstanding community organizations and 11 dedicated volunteers—representing more than 15,000 volunteer hours and millions of dollars invested in local students. What an incredible impact!

GEM Event 2026✨

Another empowering day at Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield as we wrapped up our annual GEM (Girl Empowerment Movement) Summit! From STEM to fine arts, community service to e-sports, Club members delved into activities aimed at nurturing their talents and passions.

A massive shoutout to O'Bannon Bank for their support in making this event possible! 🙌 We couldn't have done it without you. And of course, many thanks to our dedicated BGCS staff for their hard work and commitment to our members' growth and empowerment. 👏
