YOUR VOICE MATTERS. DEADLINE: OCTOBER 21.

For the first time in years, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking public input on the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation.

This is a critical opportunity to make your voice heard at the federal level.

HHS wants to hear your concerns about RF radiation exposure from cell towers, 5G infrastructure, and wireless technology—especially near homes, schools, playgrounds, and places where children gather.

You do NOT need to have experienced health effects to submit a comment. Every concerned parent, resident, healthcare professional, and advocate has a voice.

We need independent scientific research, greater transparency, and stronger protections for our communities and children.

SPRING LAKE MAKES NATIONAL NEWS.

Fox Business covers the September 29 Borough Council meeting, where hundreds of residents gathered in opposition to the Verizon settlement.

Despite overwhelming resident opposition, the Council voted 3–2 to approve the deal.

THE SETTLEMENT PASSED. BUT THE ORDINANCE HAS NOT.

The proposed ordinance would eliminate Planning Board review for wireless facilities on Borough property — removing an existing local protection, not just for this Verizon settlement, but for future installations.

WHAT’S NEXT?

October 13 — Expected ordinance introduction.

October 27 — Potential adoption vote.

Urge council members to vote NO.

These meetings are an opportunity for residents to address the Council directly before the ordinance is decided.

🚨 URGENT: A new federal bill was introduced today that could take away Spring Lake’s ability to say NO to 5G towers.

The FCC is proposing rules that would strip all local control over wireless infrastructure. If this passes:

• Towns lose their zoning authority. No say in where towers go.
• Automatic approvals after 150 days — even if there is strong local opposition.
• No independent safety review. The wireless industry would police itself.
• Towers could be forced onto residential streets, near schools, parks, and Ocean Ave — with zero ability for communities to stop it.
• Local budgets and property rights would be compromised.

This doesn’t just affect Spring Lake — it affects every town across the country.

🗓 Council Meeting – Monday, May 27 at 7:00 PM 📍 Borough Hall – 423 Warren

📢 5G Settlement Talks Are Advancing Without Resident Input
Recent developments indicate that Spring Lake Borough and Verizon have initiated settlement discussions regarding proposed 5G towers:
April 21: Borough and Verizon met via Zoom
May 7: Both parties requested a court settlement conference
May 12: A status conference was held with the judge
Our legal team, representing Spring Lake residents, has requested to participate, but the judge has not yet ruled on our motion to intervene.
⚠️ Until then, there’s a real risk Verizon and the Borough could settle—without any public input.
The Borough’s proposal includes placing 5G infrastructure on the two beachfront pavilions.
We advocate for:
No new towers in Spring Lake
Temporary “COWs” (cells on wheels) on Ocean Avenue
Utilizing the existing water tower, which already hosts wireless equipment
⚠️ Approve Just One Tower in Spring Lake... Get a Town-Wide MESH Network
Experiences from towns like Point Pleasant and Lavallette show that once one 5G tower is approved, more follow:
