The minis were on the road again this morning, spreading a little A&F magic at Homestead Assisted Living in Osawatomie and this is exactly why this program matters.

They walked in and everything changed. Residents were smiling. Staff were smiling. There was laughter, sweetness, and that quiet kind of joy that is hard to explain unless you are standing there watching it happen. That is what our mini program is all about. Bringing comfort, connection, and happiness into places where it is needed. Nursing homes, schools, community visits, outreach events. Little horses with a really big purpose.

But like every part of rescue, this program takes support. Feed, care, transport, supplies, vetting, and the time it takes to get them safely where they need to go all add up.

Alright friends, get your guesses ready for this year's Gala mystery trip! If you didn't catch Shelby's, What's up Wednesday live, she dropped the first clue. Kind of like The Masked Singer we won't reveal it for a bit, but start making your guesses and you can see if you were right!!

🛻 A reminder, it is a domestic trip, so you could drive there. 🛻

If we sell out entries for this trip, that will unlock a 2nd domestic trip that we will announce at the Gala! So keep checking for clues and a final reveal of our trip location!!

We are growing our medical program, and now we need a few very special volunteers who want to help behind the scenes!

Not every lifesaving role is glamorous. Some of them look like washing instruments, wrapping surgery packs, folding towels, cleaning recovery kennels, carrying sleepy babies safely back to their beds, and making sure our medical team has what they need before they need it.

But those things matter. A lot!

We are opening applications for two medical volunteer roles:

Surgical Pack & Sterilization Volunteers
These volunteers will help clean and organize instruments, prepare surgery packs, assist with sterilization workflow, restock supplies, and help keep surgery days moving.

Surgical Recovery & Patient Movement Volunteers
These volunteers will help on surgery days by assisting with safe movement of animals before and after procedures, carrying animals to recovery as directed, changing bedding, cleaning recovery areas, and helping keep recovering animals warm and comfortable.

Because these roles support real surgeries and patient safety, they are not drop-in volunteer positions. Volunteers must apply, attend a training session, be approved by the medical team, and commit to at least six months.

This is for the reliable ones. The calm ones. The detail people. The people who understand that rescue is not just the big emotional moments online. It is also the quiet work no one sees. And that quiet work saves lives.
