Only 8 days remain until The Triumph of Love opens! Let’s meet our players…

Leonide (played by Abby Constable) is a princess—although she’s disguised herself as a man to sneak into the gardens of Hermocrate. Leonide uses all her wiles to weave a web of seduction and deception all in pursuit of her one objective: the true Prince.

Prince Agis (played by Ali Aboud) has been raised in Hermocrate’s strict household, hidden away as the true heir to the throne. He’s sworn off women and love. But when a strange young man appears in their garden, will reason hold out against his own innate curiosity?

The Triumph of Love runs June 12 to June 28 at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture.

The Triumph of Love showcases commedia dell'arte elements including mask work.

Commedia dell'arte originated from Italian theatre and was popular throughout Europe between the 16th and 18th centuries.

This classic theatre genre features Zanni characters who are portrayed as astute servants or tricksters.

(And if it sounds like the word zany, you’re on the right track!)

The Triumph of Love runs June 12th to June 28th at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture.
