Retriever Hunt Test Weekend Again June 5, 6, 7

Friday: Yellow and Green Gates closed.
Club members can access Blue Gate. Please leave red gate locked if you find it locked.

Saturday - all grounds closed for tests

Sunday Red and Blue gates Closed.

friendly reminder that North Idaho Retriever Club is holding an AKC Hunt Test at the training grounds this Thursday-Sunday, May 28-31.

Grounds are closed to training during this time. If you are interested in retriever hunt tests, you are welcome to go spectate- just do not bring your dogs with you.

May 25 Deadline (Monday) for NAHRA Field Test entries.

Come celebrate the successes of our hunting dogs at the June 6 West Regional event, showcasing the lower stakes. This is a three day test with Senior on Friday and Saturday, the Started, Hunter, and Intermediate on Saturday and Sunday. A banquet and raffle will be held Saturday at the conclusion of the day’s tests.

Looking for a winger operator volunteer for Saturday, June 6.

Rattle Snake Avoidance Clinic
Friday, June 12 in Medical Lake, WA

The folks from Natural Solutions Training will be bringing a bunch of rattle snakes and training your dog to avoid them. The snakes are humanely muzzled so they can’t bite- but the dogs can see them move and smell real live rattle snakes. The dogs will also be taught to avoid rattlers by sound.

$95/dog, which I assure you is a small fraction of a vet bill for a snake bite.

To sign up, E-mail Ellen at [email protected]. You will be given a time slot, so we aim to get folks in and out within an hour. If you have a preference on time that day, please mention it in your E-mail and include a cell number. Cash or check on the day.

While the weather did not cooperate completely, over 20 dogs showed up and all had a great time. Ron and Suzette from Fire and Ice Retrievers kindly let us use their land for the event.
