Our growers are starting to see their forst irises pop up! Iris reticulata is the earliest blooming iris and are such welcome additions to any grower that wants an iris blooming as early as possible!

Did you know there have been over 90 American D***s Medals awarded to irises? The D***s medla represents the highest award an iris can receive, making an iris that recieves it a highly coveted garden plant.

Below is a picture of Catherine's D***s Medal bed, her goal is to plant as many D***s winners as possible and she's already collected quite a few!

Websites of multiple growers are getting ready to go live!!! Who's ready to buy new iris 🙋‍♀️

Website is almost done! More than likely we will be live sometime tomorrow, at the latest it will be Friday morning.

This is a seedling that has really caught my eye....this picture was taken right after the last fall petal dropped as it opened. The flower is very large with thick substance and very wide form, the standards haven't quite expanded yet in this photo. Great pattern and color and it rebloomed this past fall so it is now on the fast track for introduction..it has already gone through 2 years of evaluation so stock is decent already. this past fall was the first time it was left in the ground and it rebloomed on several of it's clumps so we will keep monitoring it's rebloom reliability but either way it is headed for introduction...

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for breaking ground on Sarurday at Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens and starting the long process of restoring the overgrown beds!

We will NOT have a general meeting in June, instead we will have a walk through the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens on Saturday, June 21st at 10am.

Our next general meeting will be Tuesday, July 1st at 5:30pm at the Shadle Library.

Wow! 😮

Shelby spotted this yesterday. Last years SDB intro Eio (named by the youngest granddaughter) with 8 falls and 5 standards. Eio routinely has 4 or 5 falls but I am pretty sure 8 is a record for us!
