Participating in youth Track and Field with Team Spokane while growing up, helped cope with life challenges. Being a nationally ranked High School state track and field runner from Lewis and Clark High school, opened many doors such as the opportunity to become a first generation college graduate. Graduating from Washington State University with a Pre-Law degree. Sports contribute immensely to improving my physical and psychological health and also providing a sense of belonging and support. Proven to be an effective tool in keeping at-risk youth from falling into a cycle of anti-social behavior, violence, crime and drug use. The plan is to get a military tent as a temporary structure to host events and to register, house, feed and clothe children who’ve been simply abandon. Strengthening life skills of children, youth and communities is a key objective in order to minimize risk factors and maximize protective factors related to crime, violence and drug use. Africa Movement will host creational activities to reduce vandalism, crime, and other violent offences in local areas. Local communities will learn how to organize sport, and physical activity programs to address specific local problems, such as alcohol, child labor, homelessness, and illicit drug use amongst young people.
