Volunteers Needed!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! 🪵 As many of you have seen, we have a lot of trees down at the Kings Lake area. We are in need of volunteers to help clear the trails! We are going to have a trail clearing day after Christmas weekend at Kings Lake. Please see below for more information. We look forward to seeing you!

When:
Tuesday, December 30th, 9:00 am meeting at Newport McDonald's. Depart about 9:30 am.

Where:
Meet at Newport McDonald's Restaurant. We will caravan up to Squaw Valley and clear the trail in the valley and head up towards the warming hut as conditions allow. The trail is passable by an AWD/4 Wheel Drive vehicle. We will be breaking into up to 3 groups for efficiency to clear trails in all directions.

Another Winter Knights group has been working on the trails out of the Kings Lake parking lot. They are cutting trees and getting ready for Brian Winkler to join next week with a logging skidder to push these trees off the trail.

What to bring:
Chainsaw if you have one with fuel and oil, work clothes, gloves, safety glasses, lunch food, and a beverage. If you do not have a chainsaw, please attend as your help is needed in moving trees and branches. The club will have water and snacks for everyone.

Full day of clearing out the 1137 road at Kings lake. We lost track of how many trees, but it was quite a few.
Currently the 1137 is open from Kings lk snow park to the warming hut, but there’s probably plenty more to do on the other roads in the future.
Thanks to all who donated their time and machines to clear out this road.
