For those who asked about working with metallic thread, a couple of members have shared with us the steps they went in working with metallic thread.

Turned top tension down by 4 full turns. One turn at a time then testing each time.

Tried thread net on cross-wound cone. It tended to cause the thread to twist and catch on net.

Straight wound spools need to be mounted horizontally so thread pulls off straight. Cross wound cones can be placed on the vertical pin but may also work better on a horizontal pin.

The horizontal pin may add additional tension requiring more tweaking.

Bobbin- So-Fine thread. Tweaked tension up as top tension was turned down, eventually to 300 on Towa bobbin gauge, which is considerablely tighter than normal. With So-Fine, this still falls within Jamie Wallen's recommendation for testing bobbin tension.
