Butler fourth graders kicked off LifeWise Academy today! It was wonderful to see all of our returning students as well as our new friends that joined us for the first time today!

Our first lesson for the year is always, "What is the Bible?" We learned the Bible is God's one big story, teaching us His character, His blessings, His promises, and His stories of what He has done and what He will do in the future! God loves each one of us and wants us to be part of His family! He sent Jesus to make it possible!!

New students received a copy of the Bible we use in class, and every student received a new LifeWise t-shirt. We hope they will wear the T-shirt on LifeWise days! If your child received a new Bible, they do not need to bring it to class with them, but it will allow you to review our lessons each week from home! We have a classroom set of these Bibles that we will use in class each week.

We played two fun games today: The first was a game called Howdy-Howdy-Do! It was a fun way to review everyone's name and just have fun together. The other game was a review game from today's lesson. We didn't quite finish it and will open our class next week with this same review game.

What a great start to the LifeWise year! We can't wait to see how God works in the lives of these young people!

Riverdale third graders had a great first LifeWise class of the year! It was wonderful to welcome the students back and begin a new year of learning about God and His Word. This is a GREAT group of students, and our class has grown since last year! That is super exciting!

Today’s lesson was “What Is the Bible?” We learned that the Bible is God’s Word—a letter from God to us. It tells us about who God is, how much He loves us, and His good plan for us.

The students learned that:

The Bible was written by people whom God guided to share His message.
The Bible contains 66 books, but all of those books work together to tell one big story—the story of Jesus.
The Bible tells us about the past, including creation and God’s work throughout history, and about the future, including Jesus’ return and the promise of a new Heaven and new Earth.
Most importantly, God gave us His Word so that we can know Him and learn how He wants us to live.

We also played a fun game where we got up and exchanged chairs based on what the "it" person called out. We had fun and laughed a lot!

We are excited to spend this school year learning more about God through the Bible and discovering the amazing story of His plan for us!

We played a bean bag toss game in which we had to spell the word "Bible." We also played a game called "I Love..." Everyone had to get up and change seats when someone said something we love! Lots of laughs when two people tried to sit in the same seat!!

Just a few weeks left to register for LifeWise! Registration will close August 31st when LifeWise begins! We are excited for this new year and looking forward to seeing new and former students! All students in 2nd through 6th grade at Butler and Riverdale are invited to join us during lunch and recess!! Please share and invite your friends!!
