The tournament is just a few days away!

The rules meeting will be this Friday at the Branding Iron Steakhouse & Social Club . The meeting wont start until 6:30 pm but the doors will be open at 5:30. Come a little early and get yourself some supper and say hello to everyone.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone for another great year!

Applications are out for this year's walleye tournament! As always, it will be the first weekend in May. That falls on the 2nd and 3rd this year.

If you were in the tournament last year, you are on our mailing list and we'll be sending you an application in the mail. Applications can also be picked up at Frontier Glass in Belle Fourche.

If you moved in the last year or know a new team that would like to enter, let us know! We've got some room and we would love to see some new entries!

We were fortunate to have a couple SDGFP members attend our last meeting and speak to us. Habitat projects and fishery status were among the items discussed.

Christmas trees and root wads are planned for fish structure projects this year. There are also plans for more perch from Deerfield. These are all projects that High Plains Anglers have been able to partner with SDFGP to make happen.

Attached is a graph of perch numbers from SDGFP fall gill netting surveys and how the perch numbers have steadily increased since the increased perch stockings! We’re extremely happy to see these numbers and how the lake is improving. Follow the link below to read the full survey yourself.

Don't forget that you can take your Christmas trees to the Belle Fourche rodeo grounds for disposal! The club has been able to use these trees the past few years to create fish habitat at the Belle Fourche Reservoir. The more trees we gather, the more habitat we can create in the lake!
