Boiling Springs continues to grow, and our firefighters deserve the staffing, resources, and competitive compensation needed to serve that growing community.

On November 3rd, residents of the Boiling Springs Fire District will have the opportunity to vote on a referendum that could help address firefighter retention, staffing, and operational needs.

Investing in our firefighters is investing in public safety.

Today, our community came together to send off South Carolina National Guard members preparing for an extended deployment overseas. Among them is Tyler St. Louis, our Local 5612 chapter secretary and a firefighter with Boiling Springs Fire Department Of Spartanburg.

Tyler, we’re proud to serve alongside you, and we’re proud of the commitment you’re making to our country. We’re also thinking of the other firefighters from departments across our county who are deploying, and of the families who will carry so much at home while they’re away.

To every member deploying: stay safe, look after one another, and know your fire service family will be here for you and your loved ones throughout the deployment. We look forward to welcoming you all home. 🇺🇸

Proud to see South Carolina firefighters standing together behind the issues that matter to our profession. From the Lowcountry to the Upstate, firefighter health, presumptive protections, cancer prevention, and first-responder safety affect all of us. Representative James Teeple has been recognized by the IAFF and South Carolina professional firefighters for his work on those priorities.

MAJOR ENDORSEMENT! Thank you to the International Association of Firefighters for your endorsement! This session I fought for enhanced coverage for strokes & heart attacks to be presumptive job-related conditions and fought for cancer screenings for every firefighter in SC, including both volunteer and professional. I am also working with South Carolina companies to provide PFAS free bunker gear to every fire house. It was also an honor of a lifetime to speak at the IAFF National Convention in Arlington, TX this year. These are just first steps and we have more work to do!

Mark your calendars for the BIGGEST RIVALRY SOFTBALL GAME in Spartanburg's history on Saturday, November 7th starting at 12 PM at Fifth Third Park. 🥎

It's the Battle of the Badges, a charity softball scrap between Spartanburg Police Department and Spartanburg Fire Department, where the City's finest first responders will brawl on the diamond for some great great local causes.

This charity event will support Children's Advocacy Center of Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties & the South Carolina Firefighters Burned Children's Fund, with all proceeds donated to these organizations.

Be sure to come out and enjoy a great game for an even better cause!
